Thanks for your response...I hope it is in good condition? and there wont be any cause of disappointment if i purchase it from you?i wanted to buy this for my Dad. I am ready to pay the asking price. I'm an Ocean Engineer and am currently on sea right now which is strictly no calls. My Mode of payment is PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online, but i have it attached to my PayPal account. Since I'm requesting this transaction to be done via PayPal, I will be responsible for all the PayPal fees/charges on this transaction, if you don't have an account with PayPal, it's pretty easy, safe and secure to open one. Just log on to www.paypal.com. I hope we can make this transaction as fast as possible. Less I forgot, I have a Mover that will come for it once payment is cleared in your PayPal account and they will be handling it for me, as I look forward to hearing from you with your PayPal information as requested below.

Smells fishy to me.. thoughts????

Advice about selling a car, recieving payment via paypal.

I always tell them I just can't accept paypal for such a large transaction. Sometimes the hungrier scammers will try to protest a little bit but it always kills the deal.

I'm not sure what the goal is, are they really trying to steal your car or is it some kind of cash scam?

I am not sure how this scam works. So they send the payment by paypal then cry foul?

The money will show in your PayPal instantly then they will ask for your address to pick up the car. They will pick it up ASAp. It takes almost a week before there bank bounces the transaction and the money is gone. Never give address if you can move the item. Always meet the person at a public place for cash in hand.

Definitely a scam. I also belong to the Harley forums and a member got the same message right down to the "ocean engineer" when he was selling his bike. He also wondered if it was a scam.

I wonder if you could tell them to meet you at a neutral location and have the cops waiting with you. I don't know if the Law would bother if it's just a random unproven criminal.

The other day some guy in a parking lot tried to sell me a counterfeit $3,800.00 home theater system because "the guy at the loading dock accidentally doubled my order" (It would have been a re-branded crap system; Google "White Van Speaker Scam"). I contacted Crime Stoppers with the guy's plate number and never heard back from them.

A coworker of mine bought some white van speakers back in the day. Don't think he ever got them hooked up, some really odd inputs.

And don't buy any meat from people driving around your neighborhood with "extra" meat... bla bla...

Also, no , your trees do not need to be "wind sale thinned".

And Microsoft will not call you to tell you about a virus you might have.

It never stops....

Guys were using this scam 30 years ago with stereo speakers. Can't believe it is still out there. Frankly I'm surprised ebay and Paypal are still in business with all the scams.
