Fbody Beach Week 2010
Fbody Beach Weekend has been set in stone for July 16-18 (weekend before Mustang Week starts), with the car show being held on the 17th.
We have hooked up with Koss Motorsports (KMS) from Lancaster, SC...and they will run the show for us. KMS runs shows year round and really know how to put together big events that draw big crowds. They even have a new TV Show that starts Jan 14. If all goes well we should get TV and radio coverage for Fbody Beach week. There will be 27 different Fbody classes. Each generation and level of customization (stock, mild, wild) will have its own class with 1st and 2nd place. Also, there will be non-FBody classes and a show separate for the non-FBody cars. In addition....there will be 10-15 specialty awards that we aren't yet 100% sure of (best paint, best engine bay, best wheels, best stance, best exhaust, etc). This is looking to turnout nice, as over $1000 will be spent on awards. Expect show entry to be in the $20-$25 range depending on what type of car you bring. The car show will be on that Saturday the 17th at Inlet Square Mall from 8 am - 4 pm, and will be put on by Koss Motorsports from Lancaster, SC. There is a track day for all of us. Bill Hennesey is going to manage this event. He is going to treat us just like the Mustang Week guys....i.e. we do NOT have to pay for a track rental, which would be in the $thousands$. Here is what we know as of now... -This event will be on Friday the 16th from 3pm-8pm -Cost to participate in any or all events: $20. Cost to spectate: $5. -Everyone MUST sign a release form the day of the event. -Participates MUST wear helmets...no roll cage, fire suits, any of that required. Just drive up and have fun. -EMS on site Here's the list of activities... -Auto cross -Track runs (Run your car as hard as you want around the track, 2 cars at a time. Cones will be set up to keep cars off banks and keep speeds safe). -"Street Drag"...Starting at the end of turn 4, you will be allowed to drag race to the start/finish line. Just like it's done on the street! -0-60-0 Competition -possibly an exhaust competition -Burnout Contest (this will be the last event, and no line locks, power braking, etc will be allowed. Car must stay rolling, Bill doesn't want the pavement dug up) This is a GREAT opportunity to legally run your car in a variety of different things. You can't find this good of a deal ($20 to do all this...come on!) so we hope this generates a big turnout! Vendors will be present and will set up trailers, tables, have displays, sell products, and the coolest...they are bringing their cars down to show, race, and enjoy with us for the weekend. This is a big deal to us, as this event will NOT happen without them! We really appreciate each and every one of you for stepping up and accepted the invites! Some of the vendors we have... -Vengeance Racing (thank you Mike and Ron!) http://www.vengeancerd.com/ -Tick Performance (we appreciate you stepping up with us Joey) http://www.tick-performance.com/ -Hawks Third Gen (thanks Bruce! Bruce also helped last year, and is also a sponsor of the F-Body Gathering in Atlanata) http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ -Zeus Performance (Jay, Travis....thanks for joining up with us! These guys KNOW car shows!) http://www.zeuscatalog.com/ -Mainstream Customs (Stereo shop in Upstate, SC owned by Barrett Stewart, THANKS! Barrett also donated many things to our show last year) THE KEY TO MAKING THIS REALITY.....IS YOU!!!!!! Everyone that plans on attending, please take a minute to fill out the brief registration form online.....it's nothing that will bind you to going, we just want to get an idea of how many cars we should expect so all the venues can be properly staffed to handle our needs! Thanks! http://www.fbodybeachbash.com/

thanks... unfortunately, you can count me out of this. I really wish I could go, but I am having my housewarming party on the 17th and my family is coming in from out of town. So I will not be attending.

Sounds like a good time, may try to make it, although, I'm still pissed off at MB for basically legislating our bike week there away...

Finally, an event that's not too far away.
I almost always stop by the Saturday show. Went by Burky's last year for about an hour or so. Took place a week after I took delivery of my gen5. I'll definitely be by Planet Hollywood this year as long as the weather cooperates.
