100 HP missing ?? Help

Hi guys I raced yesterday to my friends 14 Malibu 6.2 stock WITHOUT the supercharger and I just could not shake him of ???
I have the 13 ZL1 vert stock.
There must be a 100 HP difference.
Did I missed a tread about lack of HP with the 13 ZL1 verts ??
What is happening ? I'm a car guy btw but not so much with the technique.
BTW it's an auto and yes I did put her in Sports mode.
Help !

I guess the 1st thing is to be confident about Malibu mods (if any). Also keep in mind your car is heavier.

How is the SS a Malibu? Two completely different platforms.

The SS is a Malibu body with some differences in the panels and engine. That's like saying the Z/28 is a completely different platform from a 1LS because it has a different drivetrain, body, and suspension

Pretty sure the SS is not similar to a Malibu. Its a revised Pontiac G8. I didn't think the Malibu was built on the Zeta platform. The SS Sedan is basically a 4dr Camaro.

Maybe it has similar looking tail lights za but the frame, drive line, etc is not even close. It would be more so a g8 or the new Caprice.
