A few turbo related questions

Iīm collecting parts for a custom single turbo build and have a few questions.

1. Enough room to mount an AEM320 pump in stock location (Walbro sized)?

2. How do guys solve the PCV? Valve from a turbo car?

3. Any nice street clutches out there, would like a HD pressure plate and OEM disc to be honest.

4. Recommendations on tuning tool? HP Tuner? SCT? Have a dyno and will tune in house.

Thanks!

1. Kinda but would be hacking/cutting/and messing with a bunch of stuff. If you want pumps like that you really need to look at a Fore/Squash/etc setup for aftermarket pumps, or do something more drop in like CTSV pump/Zl1 pump.

2. Same as any other boosted car, quality catchcan and proper plumbing. Some of the better kits come with a complete PCV system including catchcans.

3. Stock maybe fine for awhile, but once that gives out best bet is to goto a quality dual. Never seen just a PP upgrade worth a damn. Street Slayers are the best clutch but pricey. They are worth it. Mantic and RXTs are also decent.

4. Whatever the tuner is comfortable with. They all do the same thing in the end, some have better features, some better logging. Random internet people can't answer that. The 2 most common are going to be HP tuners and EFI Live but if your tuner doesn't know what to do in them, use whatever he/she uses.

Thanks!

My dual carbon RPS blew the splines in my S2000 so will never buy a really expensive clutch again, no help at all. The Sachs upgrades last forever but donīt think you can find them for Camaro.

My tuner is new to GM so heīll work with the tool I give him, might buy the HP.

If I get a ZL1 pump, does that hanger have more space for upgrades? Use a DW compact in the Fords, might work in the stock location?

What are you power goals? Stock pump and BAP are good for ~650rwhp, and ZL1 with ADM module or BAP can make over 700rwhp. Or drop in dual pumps from CSTV are available. The bucket/fuel setup on the 5th gen isn't setup for a single walbro style pump. You have electronic fuel control/pressure/etc. You either do a full system with a boost reference regulator, or you do one of the popular drop in setups that work with the electronics.

Oh, aim for 600whp to start with. The ZL1 unit will probably do fine then, saw it online and it said 200lph something, thought it sounded small. Will start there.

Since we have a shop we always do our own kits. Sounds good, do you have different stages on the clutches?

Can you control fuel pressure in the HP Tuners? Guess the pump have itīs own control module. On the cars I work on we can adjust voltage/pressure when tuning.

One member wrote that most turbo kits are based on OEM manifolds/headers, do they include a 180 degr bend to reach the front of the engine then?

Sorry guys, planning the build before the car arrives.

The kits that use the oem manifolds mount the turbos down by the transmission.

It depends on the Turbo Kit, Im using the On3 Performance manifold setup. It uses a stock Cast manifold on the passenger side and a custom flanged manifold on the driver side. There isnt much room to route a DP.

What kit are you planning on running? or going custom?

If your going custom look into some forward facing headers from Stainless Power.

Custom. Looks like the flange points down and not backwards so a 90 degr bend wont do that much harm.

it wont but depends on how big you want to go, the Stainless forward facing headers move the collector to the front and you can build from there much easier then routing back.
