Should i take off the resinator

i have the flowmaster pro series axel back kit. it isnt very loud so i was considering doing a resinator delete on my L99. is this going to be too loud? should i do it? will there be an anoying drone? it is going to be 125 to get it done at a local shop.

I have headers, SOLO axle back, HF cats, and I DO NOT recommend taking out the resonator.

The car would be way too loud if you did that, with headers.

If you never get headers, then go for it.

You will need a tune, or a range device or AFM is gonna be nasty. Definitely need an X pipe or H pipe, in the same spot as the factroy one

I'm sure you're getting drone NOW, with those mufflers. As vroom posted, if you're going to remove the section, you'll need to put a aftermarket X or H pipe in it's place. The OEM H pipe is located within that section.

If you take off the resonator and replace it with an h or x-pipe, it's going to be pretty darn loud especially with your Flowmasters.

I was running a Magnaflow cat-back, no resonator and no tune, and never really encountered any drone.

If you plan on headers soon, I would wait and see how you like it after the headers are installed. Then decide if you want it louder. I'd recommend the Magnaflow Tru X pipe or the Resonated X pipe depending on how loud you want to go with it. Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

.....wait until you install your headers; then listen, then decide.

I had mine cut out and replaced it with a X pipe. i also had the mufflers replaced with flowmaster 10 series race muffler..my wifes 2012 mustang was still louder..i installed HF cats and that made a hell of a difference..its about as loud as my wifes mustang, but with a better tone..im telling you removing the resinator dosent make it much louder at all..

Did removing your resonator change the tone? Did you do install your Flowmasters at the same time you installed your X pipe? I already have headers and cats and trying to decide whether to just go axle back or all the way with a cat back.

i did the axle back first, then it wasent loud enough so i had them replas the resinator with an x-pipe..make it a little loader, but not much. the xpipe changed the tome for the better, IMO. i still wanted it loader so i put on JBA high flow cats..now i love how it sounds.

awesome i will probably get them to take it off with some room to put it back on if it ever gets too loud.
