supercharger or not?

My wife wants me to put a supercharger on my car, but I told her it probably isn't a good idea because the LS3 can't handle the extra power, plus it's not very practical.. Any thoughts?

There are no concerns with a supercharger on the LS3 running low boost and tuned properly. As mentioned previously, there are alot of thoughts on this forum and alot of those who already have superchargers installed. I welcome you to also feel free to give me a call to discuss your specific needs.

Speak to you soon.

research is your best friend is all I will say. There are a lot of pro's and cons to it.
Its not that the engine cant handle it, its that it wasn't built for it and its not an ideal situation... You can get away with it to a certain extent but GM wont do it.
Lot of reading is what you need to do to make an informed decision. Warranty mean anything to you? Research is your best friend or give me a call and I will discuss the pro's and cons to it.

it is a risk for sure....and how good your tuner is is KEY.
go to someone that has done a bunch of them if you do do it.
is is do do man whats with me ....

Oh and warranty GONE....and that is if you just tune a stock car......
read read and check some more before you jump.

I was thinking the same thing...My wife would be in complete agreement with you that you shouldn't put the supercharger on it! Just make sure when you do it you have it tuned right and don't live on the edge of what's safe. Keep the boost where it should be...My hunch is though that once you taste boost...you are gonna want more and then you are gonna need traction...which means suspension mods, which means $$$, and then you are gonna want.... which means $$$ and then $$$$ and then $$$

Your joking right????? Your wife says get a supercharger and you think it's not practical? Wow! Anyways I'm installing a Whipple on my LS3. You shouldn't have a problem unless your install goes bad.
