Update to earlier check engine light question.
I took off my K&N CAI and put stock intake back on. No more check engine light. I also had Onstar run a diagnostic when light was on. They said that there was an emissions error. After replacing with stock intake and check engine light gone I had Onstar run another diagnostic. No more error codes. ?????????? Do I just run K&N or what is my options? Any advice

Hmm, I'm not trying to bash you here btw, could you maybe have installed it incorrectly? By that I mean, you could have not screwed the MAF in all the way or didn't click the wiring into place exactly. just a thought

So what do you think? Put it back on and see what happens. Or leave stock on for awhile.

I'd put it back on and see what happens. It could have just been a fluke thing.

This is normal with an aftermarket cai. One of two things are taking place, usually your mass air flow will flag a weak signal due to slower air flow because of the larger diameter inlet pipe this in turn causes a lean condition in one or both exhaust banks, the other could be due to oil from the cloth air filter bleeding onto your maf and will also cause a weak maf signal. The same codes are triggered either way. This is really not a problem, if it's oil contamination take your maf out and spray clean with electronic cleaner, then either drive the car and let it go through enough cycles and the codes will clear. Or purchase an auto scanner i.e a hand held diagnostic tool and manually clear the codes. There is no harm to the car's performance. Put your cai back on, your car will like it, once you have it tuned.
