Blow out on front tire!!!! 1000Miles!

Driving down the freeway today...boom...psssssssss. Out of no where tire blows out the side wall. 1000 miles. Looks like the side wall separated.

Calling dealer Monday to raise hell. Must be a defective tire.

Luckily didn't damage wheel

Any one else have problems with goodyears?

Look it over well, if you had a nail and it came out and went flat it can cause the same defect. GM does not build the tires, but if it is a tire problem GM will take care of it. I was a service manager once long ago, if customers raised hell, I did not help, a little honey goes a long way. Treat others as you want to be treated...

Totally agree. Not their fault. I should have said I will have the service manager raise hell. Haha

Just pisses me off that a brand new tire would just blow out. No sign of any rocks, nails nothing. But I do notice a separation just above the blow out. Like it was bursting at the seems.

More pics. What do you think? Defect or bad luck road damage?

In the second pic you can see where the line goes from sharp edge to a rough area just above where it blew out. Coincidence or related?

Looks defective to me which is covered under warranty. Bring it to the dealer for inspection.

The most important thing is that you are ok, a blowout at any speed can be real bad. Looks like a cut, but who knows, takes a few feet to stop and more damage can be done to an already flat tire. It needs to come off the rim and be looked at from the inside.

When you replace your tires you way want to consider these.

Question. What were the outside temperatures? These tires are not designed to be used below 40 degrees.

even if the dealership wont "warranty" the tire out the manufacturer will. they will pick it up, and then send you a check. it might take you 2 weeks. but they will do it. they will send you a check on how much the replacement tire cost. hopefully theres no nail or any type of obstruction

Nice to know SY was a manager that didn't listen to customers complaints... Guess he wasn't a people person and wasn't worried about a paying customer issue, nice going....
