My Experience With GPI
In one word -- AWESOME!
Aaron, James, Ryan, Mike, and the whole crew are truly experts. My 2011 2SS L99 A6 was the car modded. I had already added the Vararam Intake (No Tune Version), Vararm PowerWedge, VMax TB, and JBA Wires. When I arrived, I met with James and Ryan to go over what I wanted done and approximate time-frame to get it completed. The first item on the list was Ryan doing the initial Dyno. With the mods I installed, the L99 did consistent 365 RWHP. I did not have a dyno of it before the mods, but based on Ryan's experience, I gained about 25 RWHP with those mods. So, the team at GPI did the intake mod, Installed the Stainless Work LT 1 7/8 header with the High Flow Cat and muffler delete. These parts I purchased from Maryland Speed (GREAT customer service!). Then came the under-drive pulley and 3.91 gears. Once those were done -- back to the dyno and ... 402 RWHP and 402 ft-lbs Torque! This JUST from bolt-ons. One run was 404.9 -- but the consistent run was 401.8 RWHP So, the initial drive after completed, Ryan and I drove it near a 'straight-away' to see how she does -- 3.91 with that power REALLY snapped the Camaro into shape! So, these guys know their stuff -- they are gear-heads So, why did I drive 5 hours to them? When Ryan and I spoke, I knew he had a total understanding of the car and its capabilities. I did check around the 'local' shops. Some didn't call me or email me back -- others were quick to respond. The one I thought I'd go with wanted 50% up front just to get on their calendar and it was a month wait. I ran an automotive service center for 7 years and that just rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I'm picky about things like that... Anyway, GPI and the team were just on it. They knew I was driving 5 hours and the total deal with a Rental Car, was just awesome. To the entire GPI team. BTW, GPI is a Chevy Dealer -- imagine that! Not like any here in Dallas I've seen or talked to personally. The one's I did talk to look @ you cross-eyed when you want to do 'performance' upgrades. I will most certainly contact GPI again. If you want to do the bolt ons and get the most HP, I can attest to their magic. BUT that is not all they do... I did see them working on an SC Camaro -- this one is over 800RWHP (I believe he is a member of this forum too!) Yes, Yes, Yes, the proof... I do have the dyno slips and pics (not the gears though) and will post them after I've had a chance to 'rest' from the trip. Just awesome -- my Jack Nicholson smile (think Riddler) just won't go away after doing that for 5 hours -- the wife (who went with me) enjoyed the drive and the new 'Camaro' -- caught her a bit by surprise with the before and after GPI is just awesome and worth the trip no doubt... -Don Last edited by hammdo; 06-28-2014 at 10:09 PM. |

I've been working with Ryan (Rhino) for the last 9 months on my tune and other tweaks and what have you, I have nothing but good things to say about the guy. I'll echo your sentiments, for what it's worth.

Ryan did say, I should see 11's with this puppy -- not with 'stock' tires though ;o)...
I'm willing to go to the folks who take care of me and who know their stuff, but don't 'act' like they 'know' their stuff -- if you get my meaning... I really liked GPI's 'family' attitude towards me. It was fun just to 'chat'. It reminded me of the 'old school' performance shops I grew up with -- but with the 'modern' twist. That is hard to come by and GPI does that well. -Don |

They typically have LOTS of cool old muscle cars to look at too, which is weird for a dealership. Frods, Dodges, and Chevy's.

Damn fun -- tired and I still want to drive it -- wow does it perform! I had to 'pass' a few cars just to 'make sure' it was not a dream |

Anyone know a good company to ship a car? I can't make the 10+ hours trip to GPI , Iam planning on getting autocal with em but would really rather have it in his hands.if it's too pricy to ship which I imagine
Autocal it is |
