New short throw shifter
Just got my LSR (steeda) short shifter in. It was too good of a deal to pass up. Quick shipping and LSR was able to squeeze me in for their Camaro5 discount even though it's expired.
I'll have installed pics after tomorrow. The workmanship looks good and the shifter ball is quite heavy. I definitely like the feel of it.

Just got it installed. It was a pretty well made piece and love how it shifts. Short and positive throw, shorter (height wise), and love the heavy shift ball and stem.
I didn't have a lift so I did it with jackstands and a crawler. With the help of a buddy the install took about 3.5 hours. It was just a really tight fit under there. It would've have only taken half the time but when I got the lever bolted up, the fork just wouldn't fit over the bushing . I had to remove the entire assembly and noticed the bushing for the fork pin is not one solid piece and had to mallet them in on each side to push them in a little more. I didn't want to have to go a third time around in case it wouldn't fit again so I filed each side just a hair as well. Nice snug fit. Regular driving there is no noise at all. Up around 4k -5k I start hearing a very faint hollow, tin like, rattling. I'm gonna probably recheck that everything is nice and tight down there. Overall for the price I think this is a really nice piece. Really enjoying the new quick shifts. Forgot to mention that I have the lever height at the lowest setting. It has four level 1/4 inch adjustment.

Hello!
|
That looks really good...sounds nice too.
I'm happy there are several choices for shifters for the Camaro!! Hopefully, and most likely, the little bit of noise you are hearing is normal...I know with my Hurst it's part of the deal! |
