Anyone else have a Borla axle-back on an LLT?

Installed a Borla axle-back today and it sounds amazingly deep just not quite as loud as I wanted. I was wondering if anyone else has it and if so did you remove the resonators or anything to make it louder.

I have an axle-back I made using borla mufflers so does that count? Anyway, I'm removing my rear cats to see what happens lol

I'd imagine it's about the same. Like I said I love the tone I just wish it was a bit louder. Pretty sure I'm gonna go and have the resonators removed and see what that does. I heard removing the rear cats makes it a bit raspy but let me know.

Well considering my borla mufflers are really really tame, I feel like they might be able to control the rasp. Either way, I have an extra set of cats so I can just go back to stock if I don't like it

Borla axleback touring (11776?), was the first mod I made to my car.

Got a bit louder with JBA short headers, and a little louder (and deeper) with Solo HFC's.

I've considered going one more step with Magnaflow's Tru-X pipe, but glad I started conservative with the Borla's- or it would be too loud for me now I believe.

I'm running Magnaflows, which I believe are similar in tone and depth as the Borlas.

I also love the tone and inside the cabin is just heavenly. But I want more volume and more growl so I'm going to be deleting the resonators soon. I just hope it doesn't add any more in cabin drone.

Jhoward, if you do this, let us know how it turns out.

I'd wait until you run them for a while & the "gunk" (as Apex Chase calls it) that they put inside the mufflers burns off, as the sound just keeps getting better for a while. Then you will have a better idea if you want to do something else or not. I did not do anything else to mine and I love it. It's not too obnoxious, relatively quiet at cruise but when you get on it................. . Here is the video of mine Apex did if you have not heard it. No WOT but you get the idea. Listen with headphones to hear it right, is is a professional grade video clip.

I have it. And i agree i love the sound but it needs to be a bit louder. And yes it sounds great when you punch it but who has the money to bun through gas like that?
