Hennessey Tunes 2014 Camaro Z/28 To 636 Horsepower

Not for me, but pretty interesting nonetheless. Nice they got this much power while keeping it normally aspirated...

Hennessey Tunes 2014 Camaro Z/28 To 636 Horsepower

BY SAM MCEACHERN — AUG 1, 2014

2014 Camaro Z28 HPE600

You have to have a few screws loose in your head to drive the 505 horsepower 2014 Camaro Z/28 and think “this is nice, but I wish it was a little bit faster.” Hennessey Performance Engineering is aware that those people are out there though, and has since been working on an upgrade kit for the track-focused Camaro’s 7.0-liter LS7 V8 ever since.

Hennesey’s upgrade kit includes CNC ported cylinder heads, an HPE camshaft, long-tube stainless steel headers and an ECU remap. On the Dynojet dyno, these upgrades bump output to 552 horsepower and 474 lb-ft of torque directly to the rear wheels. That means the car is producing 636 horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque at the flywheel.

Between the sticky Pirelli Trofeo R tires, working aerodynamics, dynamic suspension spool valve damping system and reduced weight, the Z/28 is the most capable Camaro ever made. We’re sure its race-ready technology will handle the extra horsepower just fine, and it should help the still hefty 3,837 lb pony car down the straights at the racetrack. Check out the video of it on the dyno below and head over to HPE’s website for more info in their HPE600 kit for the Z/28.

these numbers are nothing new to the Z06 crowd.

The bolt ons plus cam should be good enough for 530-575 all day long.

Bump up the cubes to a 440 and now 620whp (over north of 700fly wheel) is capable.

LS7s are mean motors. I love them

I'm sure the tune is a little soft to allow for long road racing track time compared to a car just making 1/4 mile pulls

I would probably do something even milder than what Hennessy did.

Sounds mean! Would love to drive one but will never own a Hennessey product.

Agreed.

Kalifornia: Where they ban everything that doesn't bolster their agenda. Anyways, sounds like a mean set-up from Hennessey!
