Let's talk twin turbos!
Finally getting a better job that should allow me to upgrade my car the way I want to (was looking at trading up for more power but decided against it as my car is almost paid off). Anyway! I still am wanting the IPS twin turbo LFX kit. Tires, wheels, brembos (take offs), and some suspension pieces will be added soon. But I'm trying to get a game plan together for my big purchase the turbo kit. My goal is 500 rwhp. Obviously this won't do without swapping out to a better fuel bump and cracking open the engine. What I want to do is initially install the twin setup on my car. Run at the stock boost setting (not the controller upgrade but purchase it) and while I'm crusing around on that what could I expect at the wheels? (I'm thinking 450?) what clutch are you FI guys going with? I know Steve at monster clutch said he could build us one that'll hold 600rwhp and still drive smoothly only probably is is he needs a car to check measurements and I believe no one has stepped up yet. I'd also like to purchase a seperate low mileage LFX engine and send it out to get built. Given how cheap these engines are from LKQ it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an extra boost ready engine getting prepped. My question to you guys is what needs to be forged? What parts need attention to get to 500rwhp? Once that motor is complete I should be able to safely turn up the boost and add a meth kit. Then should I be very close to if not surpass my goal?
Sorry for the book I just have a lot of questions!

If I remember correctly IPS no longer makes the TT kits. Fabberge makes a kit though and they advertise 460 rwhp on the stock engine and pump gas. There is a link in the v6 performance mod sticky for the kit.

That's right my bad I keep forgetting that fabberege does the kits now. In the thread is there any I do about what parts should be forged or beefed up to make 500 rwhp?

I'm familiar with what the kit advertises this threa is more so what can I expect by pushing past the basic kit. I believe I read in a seprate thread that over something like 14 PSI or so they were experiance valave problems. I think 18-20 psi should get me to my goal and if done right still be safe with the right parts. On a side note 5thGenSS how do you like your kit? I know yours isn't a v6 but how's the quality? Did fabberege do your install?

I think I made around 425 whp on just springs, about 8#
also I've never heard of anyone buying a spare engine before. People buy spare tires, filters, spark plugs, but not engines.

Good to know HP Turbine, how was drivability? How much boost are you on now?
And maybe so but I tend to do things a little differently. Since it's my daily driver sending the car out for weeks to get the engine pulled and prepped for boost isn't really an option for me. But since a pull out LFX is relatively cheap I can send that out to get built while I'm running around on the spring the kit comes with. Also your running that power through an auto right? What kind of rwhp/rwtq can I expect from just springs? And as it turns out my dad's company is going to be getting him a new truck. So his old truck will be at the house for anyone to use so anytime the camaro is sent out for work I'll have something to drive.
