>>> CAMARO 20X12 PROJECT: NO MODS, BOLT AND GO-- SEE PICS INSIDE

CAMARO 20X12 PROJECT

Brought to you by BestWheelDeals.com

5Th Gen Camaro was introduced approx 4 years ago, and honestly, not much has changed when it comes to fitment. We think it is time to make this more interesting...

What if I told you that we could fit a 20x12 in the rear of your Camaro? Perfectly flushed with the fender. No rubbing. No issues. Just bolt and drive.

Don't believe? Please see pictures below of the test-fit.

Stock 20x9 w/275/40-20 next to Falken FK 453 315/35-20 on 20x12

Nitto NT 05 315/35-20 on 20x12

Want to see more? See the video of the car in motion.

FAQ
Q: Is there any rubbing issue with the 20x12 or any modifications to the vehicle need to be done?
A: No rubbing issues and no modifications required. We ran numerous test fits and achieved the perfect offset. Then, we looked at the position where the tire rested and it cleared perfectly - even under heavy acceleration, braking, and sharp turns.

Q: Will 315/35-20 work properly on a 20X12?
A: Yes. The tires support wheels up to 12.5"

Q: Do the tires wrap the wheels completely?
A: Yes. Tires are wrapped nicely. Tires are not stretched out. Take a look at the pictures above and see for yourself.

Is that stock height? What happens when you lower 1" and run -0.6* to -1.0* camber.

My 20x11.5 running NT05 315/35 at -.9* is close to the inside fender shroud at 1" drop. Version 1 of Pedders ZL1 style bar scrapes wheels on bumps. It may work at OE height/alignment, but may have fitment issues when you start to mod the suspension. Also, don't forget to tie up the parking brake line.

Just an FYI... Still looks nice.

Very cool, but they do look a little stretched too, more than normal, but not as bad as the low riders.

Great question! Without delving too deep into the technical mombo-jombo, understeer produced by increased friction of wider rears is countered by wider wheels and tires up front as well; we run 20x12 in the rear with 20x10 and 20x10.5 in front; we recommend 20x9 in front only for serious drag racing.

Bigger footprint up front increases traction up front as well, and that diminishes understeer. A good example of this is the ZL1 wheel/tire package, which has 305/35-20 in the rear and 285/35-20 in front.

Really appreciate your insight and comment. As you know, this is a game of millimeters. We worked really hard to reach final offset on 20x12, and looked at all the details-- including bars, spring drops, and coil drops. I don't know what offset you're running on the 20x11.5, but your wheel might be landing deeper than ours.

We will have pics up soon of wheel on dropped Camaro.

Again, Thanks.

We know it's new. It's hard to wrap your head around a 20x12 fitting without mods, but they fit, and it's a pretty bad ass looking set up. Please see a more detailed viewing of the test fit; see video below.

Awesome Wheels !!!

2 questions:

The 315s appear to be streched just a bit. This has me thinking about 335s. Can we see 335s on these wheels ?

Related to running 335s, is the wheel width a true 12.0" or is it 300mm wide as in a european width rounded up from 11.8" to 12.0" ?

Not hard to wrap my head around it, it's just that people have different ideas of what "fitting" means. Even in the video it looks like they stick out about 1/2 an inch. I'm assuming that is why you are using a semi stretched 315 instead of a wider, better fitting 335/30 20.
I know some people don't mind if their wheels are poking out a bit and some even like it, but others don't (including me).

Can you snap a pic like this?

335s won't fit without sticking out a lot. Ask me how I know.

IMO if you can "properly" fit a 315 on and 11" wheel, why would you go to a larger wheel width that weighs more?

doing a 10.5 with the these? The stretching of the tire preloads the tire. speeds up the steering response. And how much and what colors

pm me with details
