Didn't say I can't afford the insurance (I meant that was not a lot of an increase for going to a V8) that is not the issue. I can afford the extra payment and extra insurance, we make good money and our jobs are secure. Just thinking if I really need the extra power, but it would be awesome.

If you can afford it, then get it done. They should do better on the price for you. Winter isn't that far away up here, and they don't want to sit on that car till spring time.

On the other hand, you should never buy a new car when upside down on the 1 you have.

I made the switch and could not be happier...If you can afford it and want it (two key conditions) than do it..appears that you are getting a pretty good deal on your trade..the power..the prestige..well worth it (imo)..have you test driven one?

This and it's not at all about needing the HP. No one needs that amount of power. It's about wanting the power.

It's also nice to be part of the SS club. I would say almost 8 out of 10 Camaros I see in FL are the V6. So it feels a bit more special.

You only live once. If you can afford it, trade in for the SS. Why not look for a used SS with about the same mileage that you have on your current car.

i disagree with you completely. i don't think anyone that can afford a $40,000 car would consider a $50 increase in car insurance over a 6 month period of time to be a lot of money.

i just don't think you can justify it. if you have good jobs and the extra money, you should be doing the smart thing and putting some of that cash into your current note to get out of the upside-down dilemma, not buying a more expensive car all around (gas, insurance, note, payments, etc.).

There is a new $1500 dealer cash incentive on the 2011s. Do it if it's what you want but with all the mods you've done I'd stick with what I have.

Still thinking it over because I will have to carry over about $2500.00, I do get the GM discount but there are no other incentives on the 2011. You would think there would be something to sell the 2011's!

Really like the extra power, but don't know if I can justify it.
why did you buy a v6 to begain with. I never seen someone say I want to trade my v8 for a v6. Just saying

I traded a V8 for a V6 once but I'm probably the exception to the rule there. I have a 40-mile commute one-way. The SS is just not practical for me.

So much to think about, don't want to rush into anything.

What is average miles per gal w/V8?
i get about 19mpg at 70mph and 28mpg at 50mph keep a steady foot but i know thats hard to do in a camaro!

Anna just posted in another thread that GM just announced $1500 dealer cash back on the 11's. Make sure you ask about that! If that made the upgrade only $1000, it's SO worth it IMO.
