Dealer wants 3,500 over MSRP

A Chevy dealer here in SO CAL wanted 3,500 over MSRP for the 1LE they have. He lowered it to 2000 over MSRP. I just told him thanks for the offer but I'm not interested at that price. I let him know I had the Costco price It didnt seem to help. I'll keep looking. I'm not that young impulsive buyer I once was.

If they are listed by Costco as a dealer they are "obligated" to give that price. Was that the dealer or sales manager. Also, contact the dealer listed by Costco. The other dealers will most likely have no knowledge of the program.

When all is said and done, I should be under invoice. Just a matter of how much under invoice!

I got mine a 1000 below msrp, but when I went to another dealer they wanted 3000 over sticker (BLK ON BLK) I walked away from it and went and bought this one (red)

Interesting how the $3.500 is the exact amount for the performance package. Makes me wonder if a mistake is in the mix. In other words SS Camaro plus $3.500 equals price of the 1LE. Just a thought.

A dealer tried that with my plain old 2ss 2 years after they came out. I sent the moron a nice pic of me and my new car after I bought it from another dealership right at dealer cost.

It was the exact same scenario but with USAA pricing.

Dealers are not obligated to do anything. I get GM employee pricing. Back in '05 when the Cobalt SS' first came out, they were priced over sticker. I told the guy I get employee pricing and he literally said, "so?" I said this is a GM incentive, not yours. And he said we dont have to honor that. I called GM that night and they said high volume dealers have the option to honor employee pricing. They did the same thing when I bought my Camaro. They were still new on the market. I told them I get employee pricing, and they said the best price they would give me is sticker. (The car was priced $2200 above)

And that's why I put it in quotes. An honest stand up dealer will honor it. Some won't. I would find one who will and buy from them.
