LS v LT
Hi all! I just graduated school and am looking at ordering a 2013 Camaro
I am not a big fan of the stock headlights or the heritage rims (assuming they don't change much from '12 to '13) so I would want the RS package or buy the LS and mod it. (I know RS is only available on the LT) So my question is in your opinion, would it be worth it to buy the LS and install the upgrades myself to get something similar to the RS package, or would I be better off buying the LT version? (Or recommend something different) I'm tempted to get the 2LT with leather and the rear vision camera, but those aren't necessities. I'm not sure if it would be worth the extra ~$6k for that Thanks! |

LT/RS. Just have them do all the work for you. Much easier trust me. You'll be glad you did.

Order your car with the RS package. It's going to cost you much more buying wheels, lights, spoiler, etc if you decide to go that route in the future.

There are so many blind spots with this car, the rear parking assist is a must. Wouldn't have this car without it. Get the 2LT RS if you can.

Heres another thing. If your fixing to get an auto, go for the LT. The Ls has no sport mode, and different gears. Its slower than the LT.

Graduation...high school, or college? Do you have a job lined up yet to pay for it? This all probably affects my answer.

Congrats on the graduation and good luck...let this new Camaro purchase be one the first and best decisions you make. If your set on the V6 then get the RS package at least. That way you have some of the upgrades that I'm sure you'll end up wanting in the long run anyway....the extra price is money well spent I promise you. If I wasn't so set on having the V8 I would've got the 2LT/RS. Trust me when I say you'll be happier getting what you want the first time.

Only because you know for sure you want to change out the wheels from the standard ones on the LS or LT, I would go with an LT/RS. The slight benefit to getting the LS would be picking whatever wheels you want, but like everyone else is saying...save your money and just get an LT with the RS package.

Get the LT/RS and try to work out a deal to get the price close to LS territory... unless youre going to change the wheels, then it might be a wash.

I guess I'll be the lone dissenter. I chose to go the LS route. Instead of giving GM the extra money, I spent it on performance mods. Honestly, I don't miss all that extra foo-foo crap anyway and view the LS as a blank sheet of paper to draw my own picture as time/money permits.

I would not only go the LT/RS route, but I would also see what kink of deal you can get on a new 2012 instead of a 2013 and save a few bucks....assuming you can find one you like.
