Help Planning Audio Install

I have plans to upgrade the sound system in my 15 Mylink with Nav car. Here is what i am thinking:

JL C5-650 component fronts
JL C2-690 rears
JL 12w3v3-2 2 ohm 12 inch sub
JL XD700/5 Amp
Fark harness

I want to power the door and rear speakers as well as the sub off of the single JL amp. That should be the easy part.

I want to retain the factory HU but want to improve the sound quality. I like the Rockford Fosgate 3sixty3, Alpine H800, and the JBl MS-8. (All of which allow RCA inputs from the FARK)

My goal is to retain the use of all factory HU functions, keep the stock volume control as primary, and improve sound.

I dont like having to use a separate volume control or EQ such as in the H800 and 3sixty3. I am worried that if i use speaker delay controls in the DSP that my bluetooth calling will sound garbled. I would prefer to keep all amps etc hidden and the 3sixty3 and h800 have a smaller size advantage over the MS-8.

Anyone have experience with these or similar products? Any advice or input? I have been reading plenty online about these different units and they all have pros and cons. Is there room near the stock amp location to mount a DSP? I intend to mount the XD700/5 in the stock amp location.

Thanks!

I have the MS-8, and although it is larger, when it comes time to tune, the JBL shines. I mounted the MS-8, an RF T400-4, and T400-2 on the backside of my sub enclosure. There is room to put the MS-8 near the stock amp but it will be against the drivers side rear fender to fit.

Would you consider the MS-8 superior to the Alpine ?

I can't say the JBL is better, just easier to tune. It adjusts phase and time alignment automatically. As far as bt I don't use it, I pulled my mylink and installed a carpc.

Glad you went the CarPC route? I have looked into it but like so many others I really can't bear to tear out the MyLink....stubborn I know and making it harder on myself

Yes I like the carpc. It looks like a standard car stereo but does lots more. I did it mostly to see if I could. I am really happy with the audio performance. I have a USB audio DAC feeding my MS-8 and can play FLAC files, as well as stream from the Web.

I left the stock Head Unit in my 2014 and replaced the rest. New front and rear speakers, dual 12" sub box with the amps mounted to the front of it. Used a good spare Pioneer head unit in place of the stock BA amp in the rear as a DSP, works awesome! I also used the FARK kit so I didn't have to cut any factory wires. Now, I can't easily adjust left/right/front/rear balance due to where I mounted the "DSP", but once it's set, I never needed to change anything. I do have a wired control for the sub volume since some songs are "normal" and others will blow your eardrums..........
