PA must gouge you all in other areas because that's ridiculously low for a car reg. And yes, I'm jealous. But then again, I don't have to worry about Nor Easter's!

PA isn't bad at all. Sales tax is only 6% and my local taxes were quite reasonable. I lived in the People's Republic of New Jersey growing up and it sucks. I'll never live there again. My parents moved to PA once my dad retired. I lived in and have visited other places across the country and the only one I liked as much as PA was when I was stationed in Texas. I love Texas!

Yes, but do you not still pay advolarem (sp) tax? When I was stationed in Georgia, only one vehicle was exempt.

I pay $75 a year in WI. Pretty expensive for ONE tiny sticker......

Illinois is $101 for registration per year. When you purchase a vehicle you pay 6.25% sales tax on purchase price plus $110 title fee.

What do you think the other $74 is allocated to? Something stupid like asphalt?

I spend more on groceries in one week than the yearly registration.
Yes, I know that money goes to stupid stuff like new bridges and repaving roads that I will never appreciate.

Well, sometimes, although I have never done it, the bridge on Lake-Cook road the crosses Milwaukee Avenue, screams for second gear and a 111 MPH run that feels like it takes the wheels off the ground after cresting the peak. So I have heard.

Try Georgia when I moved down here and brought the 2015 SS and the Colorado also 2015. The cost of registration was $2200 for the Camaro and $1660 for the Colorado. The lady told me well you can pay half up front and the other half within 12 months. I said how about I don't pay nothing and walked out.

She said after that it's only $20 a year I told her how do you know I plan on staying here ? Anyways it's $67 a year in Texas per vehicle and that is where the cars are registered because I still have address in Texas as well.

I think it's wrong to charge people who are new to the state a tax that you already paid when you bought the car. I refuse to pay them that kind of money when I already paid it to the state of Texas.

Texas plates look better anyways and I don't know if I really want to stay here because the food here sucks compared to Texas. people drive crazy here and a ton of vehicles held together with duct tape.

I refuse to be taken by any Government. They can kiss my @#!

I agree with this completely. My wife and I bought her car in Texas when I was active duty. After I retired we moved to Maryland and had to pay Maryland the taxes again. The good news in Maryland though is if you change your registration within 60 days of moving to the state, you get a discounted tax. Unfortunately we didn't change within the 60 days so had to pay the full tax on the cars value. The good news is it was a Ford Focus so the value wasn't as bad as it could have been.
