On a side note from what we saw alone on this movie is around 200-300k. Guess what man you need to learn to save, cause 1/3 of your fortune just went out the door.

I scored a Samurai Sword for $60, sold it for $6,500!

WOW!!!!

This is a prime example of how money can't change people. These 2 guys are IDIOTS, more so the son than the father!!!! They are spending money which is normal but they have no other source of income so that money won't last pas 2012. But either way glad to see them get it. But wow what a buckle head that son is!!!!

Wait............. I'd buy some new Forgelines first.
Just read through the whole thread, had myself a good laugh. This is very interesting and gave me a few ideas about starting my own business "just in case" and how taxes work.

The problem with most of us saying what we would do with the money as far as investing and saving and what not is that most of us here are holding jobs, supporting our families AND paying our camaro bills. We do all this without having the lottery. I would love that extra cash to pay off my house, school loans, the rest of my car payments. I would still have money left over and still have a job that makes me enough to get through the year, making it easier to save. Had these guys been responsible non-oxygen wasting humans, who had some benefit to society, they wouldn't have had as many problems haha.

With all that said...... I think with winning the lottery should require winning a money management class as well haha.

No sarcasm, the person I quoted said he collects swords, I collect WW2 German daggers. Was just saying how I got lucky once and bought a sword then found out what it was really worth.

In my view as a married tax filer, I would take the annuity for any jackpot under 15 million and the upfront for any jackpot over 22 million. Between 15-22 million is my gray area where I'm not sure which is better. That's where I'm not sure if I can invest the money with enough of a better return to make up for the taxes.

By the way, if anybody is ever lucky enough, make sure you claim the annuity in the form of a trust, your attorney can explain all but if you take it in your name and you die, the payments stop. If you take it in a trust the payments go to your heirs.

I wonder if the folks at the lottery explain that.
