I installed it myself! Super easy! Instructions were very detailed. They even had notes in them about the v6 stuff, like the alignment springs! Took me about an hour.

do they offer the shorter bar length? like the new factory installed hurst? to me that would look a lot better than that big metal piece sticking out there....

yes, it also comes with a shorter bar so you can use the stock shift knob to make it look stock. It's all personal preference. i like the metal bar look.

I have the Hurst Short Throw. I had it done before I even picked the car up. It is amazing! Also, Hurst sent me a new V6 pattern ball for free. I called and they sent. 40 dollar value! Now I have an SS shift knob. I gave it to my Dad as inspiration until he gets his SS.

Oops, didn't even see this post, sorry. I actually just switched to the stock look last weekend. I didn't find any knob I liked...

Is that the one that you can get from factory? Or did you buy aftermarket and just had them install before pickup? The reason I ask is because I believe the one you can get as an option doesn't have as big of a reduction in throw as the aftermarket one...

This is the after market one, not factory. I had my dealer guy install my after market parts before I picked up the car. I couldn't drive my Camaro without it. Such a nice upgrade.

I drove an SS with the factory Hurst, and it feels just as mushy and long as the stock system they put on originally. I prefer the Hurst after market IMO!

yeah, i really love how short the throw is. but now it seems that when i shift from a high RPM from first to second, it wont go into second right away. sometimes it will grind and others it just wond slide in. never had that problem with the stock shifter, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense either...

there is a big thread/debate about this seems like a more and more common problem with the transmition itself not the shifter....
