nope thats not true. i had a vin already to go and tried ordering parts and they cancel them before you can give them the vin.

I agree. Now the parts are on hold so vin or no vin... it won't help. I was saying that when they release the parts and ask for a vin then give them a showroom one.

it doesnt matter GM will still cancell they order as they have all the parts as not availabel for order. However we do have several complete kits and some misc items instock if anyone would like to email me at patrick@gmpartshouse.com with what they need

I ordered some parts today, So if they get here next week may be some of the hold is coming off, We will see soon.

It appears that ZL1's themselves have been placed on hold. So it probably still relates to parts shortage, IMO. I hope the parts come off hold soon because I'm really thinking I'm going for the ZL1 front at some point in the near future.

I wasnt saying you could get them now with a vin. I said once the zl1's start to hit the streets it may be needed to get the parts immediatly due to shortage. Once they are out a few months then I would say you could order at will! And maybe that will be the case sooner than later. I think its all tied to production of the car not a shortage of parts. Its gm for crying out loud it shouldnt be that hard to make a hood and supply enough for the cars on the line and parts counters as well. There is a reason they are holding these parts and it may just be so us ss guys dont have a zl1 look a like out before they get the actual car in the US! lol

I won't have my money until about April. Hoping they're not still on hold by then, but I'd they are, I doubt you'll have any complete kits left Patrick. :(

Part shortages happen all the time!!! For example when the Vert went into production. GM was running cargo planes nonstop for a month between KY and Canada. (ask me how I know) This is the case with every car company. Suppliers make parts and the parts need to get to the assembly line. Sometimes the parts get made in Mexico and car's built in Canada.

I think this has nothing to do with SS guys looking like ZL1 guys. GM is simply trying to avoid delays on the assembly line by saving the parts they have now.

Alright so had a great day today! Met some members and installed my front bumper!!

Here are some pictures (a lot of em)!

There are 3 plastic parts that need to be cut in order for the bumper to fit. Not sure what they are called but it's on the front of the car. This is for the 2012's I guess.
