Dude seriously if you a fretting over a couple grand, you cannot afford this car. You're going to pay more in car insurance to insure that Corvette than the couple grand more (allegedly) than a premium trimed Mustang GT or optioned out Challenger R/T. My advice.... start saving for a nice down payment then you'll have nothing to worry about. Plus typically you can get better interest rates on new cars than used.

A couple grand should mean a couple months of savings. No big deal if you want the car.

So you're behind those new pro-noise laws they're considering in California. I never thought our nanny government would actually promote a minimum loudness level. Epic win for car guys! Sorry you had to get hit for it to happen though...

Usually autos are about an $800 option on models where they're optional, but then again Chrysler is making the manual the extra cost option, so who knows at this point? Assuming AFM adds cost, my guess is GM will go the traditional route and charge extra for auto/L99 equipped models.

Um. Car and driver said that Chevy quoted the base price to be around 25,000. It's in their Sept 08 Edition.

This car is very good looking. I personally have no problem witht he lower grill. But like someone else said, you can always change it out. These grills are just held on by black plastic clips. (Those pin things)

I only see the lower grill opening just lightly different. The way some people are fussing, it's like an entirely new front end. I'm very detailed and particular about my car, but damn, this just isn't that much to get all bent out of shape about.

If I could afford the V8, I'd gladly have that front end on my car. But with NO halo headlights.

I won't discuss any information that hasn't been directly handed to me from GM or associates.

However, people thinking the options are going to add 5 to 7 grand? That seems like very bad guessing (considering what the SS comes with standard).
