That's freaking DIRTY! If I had the money I'd buy that in a heart beat if it weighed 3350-3400 lbs curb.

That's a beautiful concept I hope it turns out as planned!

I'm thinking double that ... Speedsters car was off the charts... You've passed him and gone into the realm of insanity! It's all those little details few folks will ever see... (in a good way lol)

P.S. I missed the "labor" part.... yeah... triple it

Thanks guys we appreciate the props. havent had much time to update the thread as we've been pushing to get the car done.

In our quest to shed as much weight as possible, we recreated the steel front cooler brackets out of aluminum and got rid of a few pounds.

The roof weight in at approx 22 lbs. We figure we should lose another 15 lbs off the top.

First step was removing the paint to see the spot welds

Next was to drill a pilot hole

Followed by drilling out the spot welds with a special bit

all in all it wasn't that difficult.

The rest of the steps were just cleaning off the factory foam

and sanding down the stop welds smooth.

We removed the steel plates on the side of the center console. Sorry no before pictures ( there on Justins phone). Weight removal was 7.4 lbs. All told, these three mods should save us about 25 lbs total.

Modified the DSE motor mounts to push the engine back 2".

Made a spacer to relocate the trans mount.

The dry sump tank was being mounted on the front right wheel well. Space was a a premium as the tire was hitting the tank when clocked inward. To gain 1" of clearance between the tank and tire required notching the tank, eliminating the mounting bracket and direct mounting it the frame rail.

Finish shorting the air intake tube and mounting the oil filters.

Still need to modified the upper radiator hose and mount the breather tank for the dry sump tank. Plumbing has been a mental exercise for the dry sump tank! More on that later.
