TPMS ? Help!!!
I just had my new rims installed and looks awesome. (Pics coming soonif it ever stops raining!)
Anyways the shop (goodyear) told me that they can not remove the sensor valve from the oem wheels withoput breaking it and said I need to order 4 rubber valve piece only! I'm from miami so I was not understanding his spanglish too well. If i do need these, where should I get? Would the dealer have these in stock or anywhere else/ any part number. On the oem wheel it still has the mounted valve and plastic sensor part mounted on it. Would i need to bring this part back to have them reinstall? Right now my low tire pressure warning is on. Any truth to this or was he wrong? Thanks in advance! Neuf Cruz |

Yes. When your remove the TPMS sensors you have to break the valve stems. The tire shop you took your camaro to should have had some in stock.

Yes,If you are going to re-use your original tire pressure sensors you need to buy new valve stems,as the sensors bolt onto the stems, they will break the stems in your original wheels if they try and remove them, the GM part number is 15263240
But like stieger said the tire shop should of had some in stock.

Great!
So I just go ahead and order the new stem? So do I need to remove or take in the sensor with the new stem? They are still on my old rims? Sorry as I am a little confused due to the lack of communication from the mechanic or my lack of understanding! Thanks guys! Neuf Cruz |

I'm surprised they put your new rims/tires on without completing the job correctly. They are a tire place so they should have known exactly what to do. I'm sure the Chevy dealer has them in stock. Find out if Goodyear is willing to take everything back off and install them right for free. You'll need the stock rims/tires because the sensors are inside. Not the most efficient way of doing things for sure.
