I speak with my dealer usually once a week. He also provides me with updates as he gets them. He provided me with the railcar number for my car. He asked if I wanted the phone number of the engineer

So far the car is taking the scenic route to my dealer.
6/16 Walkerville, Ont
6/19 Detroit
6/20 Cincinnati
6/21 Louisville
6/22 Cincinnati
6/23 Left Crestville, OH on it's way to Newcastle, Pa.

Should have the car on Friday or Saturday.

I believe your car will end up at Twin Oaks, Pa. The same place mines been sitting for the last 2 days and counting. I sure hope you see yours by Friday cause that means mine should be here before that.

I've been at 3000 since the end of May so since it's starting to get interesting I shoot an email to my salesman about once a week. He's been great and really patient with me.

I'm actually hoping for an August delivery (for financial reasons) so any update he has that helps suggest it might be coming more towards August instead of more towards June helps me sleep easier at night.

Since mid May I've been calling my dealer about every two weeks to get updates. I ordered mine in Feb and took delivery yesterday. Have not got a lot done at work today because everyone wants to see the new car.

I called them every Monday once production started. Didn't call them once til production started. They were Soooooo patient with me. This site helped a lot as I found out a lot of information on the cars from here, and then actually shared it with my dealer who then became a big fan of the site, how cool is that. He told me he learned some stuff about how to track the cars from this site. Great work Camaro5.

When I asked for my event code he said I was still at 1100, but he gave me a TPW of the last week in July. I am asking myself right now if this is worth all the hassle.
That sounds about right, I think you'll be OK, the ordering process on this car has been like no other I have ever seen, and I have ordered lots of cars. The plant will close for a week in July so keep that in mind. As long as he actually has an allocation and it belongs to you, you are good to go!

I speak to Al (RPO_Z28) about 2 times a week either through here or by phone. Some dealers just have patients of a saint I guess. Or they actually enjoy what they do and seem to be as excited for you to get the car.

Question

Hopefully, someone here can help. I have seen other members with similar posts. I read the forums extensively here before ordering my vehicle. I was told the dealer had allocated slots remaining. I placed my order and have been sitting at 1100 for 3 weeks. If I understand correctly, 2000 means the dealership was allocated a vehicle. This doesn't make sense to me. I've seen from others' time lines that they went from 1100-3000 almost immediately.

I realize that many here have been waiting much longer. I was hoping someone could explain whether this is normal if my dealer has allocated vehicles remaining.

Hmm...if your dealer had an allocation available at the time you should have moved to at least 2000 i think. Perhaps your dealer meant that he WILL get allocation within a few weeks. Either way, you will move along soon enough. Try being at 1100 for about 3 or 4 months like a bunch of us!

I know many people have been waiting much longer than I have. I just think the initial release could have been handled much better. Most dealers in my area are price gouging and being dishonest. I received calls from 2 dealers yesterday. The first Lindsey Chevrolet, called to say they had a black 2SS just delivered for $5000 over MSRP. 5 minutes later, they called back and said it had been sold. Koons Chevrolet sent an email out saying they had 2 2SS's available at $5000 over MSRP. When I called to ask about the color and options, I was told they didn't have time to take questions. If I wanted it, come down because someone is going to take it.
That, coupled with everything I've read here about the mishandling of preorders, some initial quality control issues, and some recent less than favorable reviews have me doubting my decision to place an order. I know forum members have a lot invested in this vehicle, which is why I'm interested in their feedback.
