Steering Wheel Controls on the 9990HD

Now that I have the steering wheel controls working, I notice that when I select the advance button on the wheel, the headunit advances the channel number, not the preset station.

This behavior differs from the stock headunit.

Is there a way (setting) to advance just the preset stations? IMHO, it defeats the purpose of having the wheel controls if I still need to take my eyes of the road to change the preset channels.

Thanks in advance,
Rizzo

mine does the same:(, it does not go through presets. i wanna say when i was using the SWI-rc module (steering control) that it was doing the presets. But not 100% sure, i will have to pull radio, disconnect the resistor, and reconnect the steering control module to check. One thing i did like about the module is i made the source button the answer button instead

Ok...Found out how to do it.

On the Kenwoods, there is are usually three sub-menus. Using the radio or XMRadio, the first sub-menu is referred to as the "multi function menu".

You will then see a "Seek" button. Click it one time to change the setting to "SEEK2"

NOTE: When you hit the button, it doesn't beep or light up, so be precise when you click it.

Doing this change, it allows me to use the steering wheel controls to scroll through the presets on JUST THAT BAND.

I use Bands 1-4 (SXM1, SXM2, etc) for my presets.

The controls will only loop through the presets on XM1. When it reaches P6, it starts back at P1 on XM1. To access P1 on XM2, you still need to manually change the band
