Reservoir connects to the master cylinder. Youd end up with 2 holes in the bottom.

If you go to your dealer and give them a GTO vin you shouldnt have a problem. Msrp is $20. If you buy parts at the dealer regularly theyll start cutting you deals. 5% over cost ran me $14 w/tax.

Camaro-
The issue appears to be the GTO res is backordered or cant be gotten. So my thought is to get another camaor res which is the same for the auto or man except for a tab is broken off for the manual to add the clutch line.
*Add the second camaro res but dont break off the tab so its a single line- this could be for the clutch or for the brake
*use the existing res but add a "Y" or plug the other line out.

Problem solved, add a larger res and (I assume since I havent gotten it yet) obtain a more readily available reservoir.

Cheers

Except you would have to find a way to plug the to large holes in the bottom of the res where it mounts to the master cylinder before you could use it.

It sounds like he ordered a whole nother master cylinder assembly, #4, which wouod leave you with a hole in the front where it connects to the brake booster i think.

I would make sure its backordered and not on hold from gm though since i just got one yesterday and i just had to supply a vin to release the hold. Its worth a shot? What about the ls1 gto reservoir?

I did notice the old reservoir states dot 4 only and ours comes with 3 i think someone said.

Thanks.....I may have found one at a dealership. They said they had 3 in stock and they are working up my order right now. As soon as it gets processed I'll post the info because there will only be 2 left.

No VIN # needed.

Holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed.

Ok....so I got taken by the Stealership but at least I've got one coming.

$20.25 part
$16.00 shipping
$36.25 total

No vasaline or reach around....

Hope to have less than $50 in the overall mod. Still not that bad if you think about the insurance it can give you.

They should have a couple left as of right now.

Anyone know if there is a specific size of plug used to cap off the brake resivoir? Or, did you just have to try a few until you found one that fit (as oil is coming out )?

I'm also assuming that I'll have to be quick when removing the hose for the clutch from brake resivoir and then plugging it because fluid will be coming out pretty fast.

One other question.....did you top off the brake resivoir with DOT 3 since that's what it says or did you mix DOT 4 with the DOT 3 fluid?

One of the posts in here says the size. The reservoir comes with a clear cap but i doubt it seals at all. I was going to take it with me for sizing. Still havent put mine in. Did an intake install this week. The v6 now roars at WOT!
