Plastidip practice

So I bought a can of plastidip after reading up on this stuff. After a few sprays of practicing on a bottle, I could see the stuff bubbling and even after drying, leaving tiny pores. I feel like this stuff Might not leave a nice smoothe finish for show. Was wanting to plastidip my oem grill and maybe fog light bezels. Am I spraying it wrong, too thick? Or is that just the way this stuff looks after drying?

Well if you are putting it on something textured, like the grille and fog light bezels, its probably not gonna be smooth. I was going to do my heritage grille with plastidip but decided not to. I used a can of automotive adhesion promoter and then shot it with a few coats of satin black paint. It holding up great. Just did the same to my tail light bezels today.

The best thing about Plasti-dip is if you screw up, just peel it off and try again. The practicing is a good thing, though.

I'm back and forth on wether I want to paint or plastidip the grill. Do you think you need to remove the grill to plastidip or maybe a good tape job will work okay? I feel like plastidip won't up up against freeway rocks and pebbles

You will need to remove the grille whether you paint it or dip it. Overspray into your radiator would cause SO many problems down the road. Depending on how bad the overspray might be I don't even think you'd make it down the road.
