After a fair amount of time warming up, my LS3 runs about 193 on the highway and gets up to 195-205 around town. On the road course it got up to 215. At the drags stock it varied between 170 and 205 which significantly affected my times.

Do you have to tune to make fans come on earlier ?

Yes, you could use a manual switch.

My fans are tuned to come on early.

Thanks so much. I'll have to tune my fans. Not sure if true or not I've been told tuning a ls3 does NOT make a big difference in performance
Is this true ?

My temps run for the most part whatever I want (within Normal scenario)- typically 180-190.

When stock-190-210

Tim

Yea, about a month ago I installed a 160 thermostat. It now cruises around at 180. I then added the manual fan switch. I can now come off the line at the drags consistently at 170. I will get back to the road course this fall and I doubt it will go over 200 unless I let it.

I live in the mountains where it snows, so time will tell if I need to get the stock thermostat back in there to get a usable heater.

198* F max. It ran this way stock (190*-198*), and it runs exactly the same with the fans tuned to come on earlier.
