FAST Intake and 102mm. Throttle Body

Wondering if anyone with FI has tried this (post FI install), and did you get any significant gains in TQ or HP? In my mind significant would be 30-50hp.? I'm thinking probably no TQ gains, but would be some HP gains if this is a superior intake compared to OEM stock intake.

Also, know some folks get custom intakes, but I'd think this would be only beneficial on a stroker.

The plenum size isn't really any bigger. Better off putting your money elsewhere. Porting your heads is the same cost as a fast, and you'd see three times the gains or more.

Would you then not also port the intake manifold?
Most of the feedback I've got so far (which is not much), is that the LS3 stock heads flow quite effeciently to begin with based on their design, which I "think" (if memory serves me), is that the new LS3 heads were redesigned from cathedral ports to rectangular and some other design changes that make them very efficient which would mean porting intake with an SC would probably NOT provide any gains at all without making any other engine modifications.
Really wondering if anyone has done before vs after dyno runs and saw any increases or imporvements.

Well sure, you can port it if you want to blow it into 1,000 pieces. Porting a fast, which is a thin manifold to begin with, isnt really wise when you're pushing pressure into it with boost. It's liable to blow to pieces.

I was responding to your response to port the heads instead of purchasing a FAST.

I think ETMC sells the FAST ported.

Granatelli just did their TT kit on a Camaro with the FAST and a 102mm TB. I think they said it was good for about 12 rwhp. I could be mistaken though.

I was just told you wont gain too much.. about same as porting your intake manifold because the pipes feeding the throttle body are same size as stock throttle body..

Id go with ported match heads and intake manifold

This might be the way to go "eventually". I read though with the "hi ram" type intake manifold like the new Holley they may actually increase low down TQ#'s, http://www.holley.com/300-118.asp

Wow. That's expensive time and materials for 12rwhp's.

That holley one looks cool. Some hi hp people are using carb intake manifolds and then building sheet metal intake tube to throttle body.. seen on a turbo camaro

Yeah. I saw a custom sheet metal one as well. Really, cool, if they help with low down TQ then cool.

Bringing this back for discussion. Anybody used the Holley for FI yet?
