This past Saturday went to Watkins Glen International and did a couple laps around the track. It wasn't as good as some past times I went but it was still fun. Bought a go pro on Friday and took a couple of videos. I had them mounted to the outside of the car and I must not of have everything tight cause the camera bounced around quite a bit and made the video shaky. Next time I'll have to mount it on the inside of the car.
(skip to the 1 minute mark on the second video) They also took a couple of pics while we were going around one of the turns. |

Little update in my build thread. Firstly I bought a diff from an ss with 3.91s installed and BMR diff bushing. Still gotta buy axles, hubs and axles nuts.
Also bought a heritage grill and installed it yesterday. For sh*ts and giggles I decided to weigh the heritage grill and the stock grill with the bowtie and RS emblem and found out that the heritage grill was 0.63lbs lighter! lol |

Amazing! You just continue to push the limits of what can be done with our V6 LLT's.

Kjkjr27's IOM Build [COTW 9/16/13]
Quote:
Thanks Ruby and it is def showing! Went to the 1/4mile yesterday and made two passes before being told I could no longer race because of my skinny tires. I managed to set a new personal best in hot weather. Ran a 13.56@102.5 (DA 1186 temp 74*). I know I can do better, started out with 20psi in my DRs and was going to work my way down to see if i got a better 60ft but wasn't able to. Next thing is finishing gathering up all the parts for the rear end swap then buy new skinny tires and will hit the track again Last edited by kjkjr27; 06-04-2014 at 04:23 PM. |

Forgot about this update: the other week my Rx catch can broke, one of the fittings at the top of the can fell apart. Decided that was a good enough excuse to order a Apex Catch Can with their nylon hose kit. It came in and wasted no time installing it.
Also finally got around to installing the front grill blackout vinyl, it isn't perfect but it will do for now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Update time....
Well spent the past two days upgraded the stock rear end to an SS rear end with 3.91s and BMR Diff Bushings in it. So now I have LSD, 3.91s and BMR Diff bushings. Install wasn't too bad just a decent amount involved. Only took 9 hours! Half of how long it took me to do my headers, making progress haha. Since I upgraded to the bigger SS rear end I have to buy the ss axles and new hubs that would fit over the ss axles. I also bought an SS driveshaft but the stock v6 one bolted right up to the new rear end so that was a waste. So far I am loving them! I can chirp the tires in 2nd and even 3rd when getting on it. Wasn't able to test them out too much today as it started to rain. Next Sunday I am planning on hitting the 1/4 mile to see how much these new gears help/hurt me (hoping help but we will see). I can officially say I am no longer a one wheel wonder lmfao! Will try to take a vid of me doing a burnout at some point. Couple of pics from the install Last edited by kjkjr27; 08-14-2014 at 02:18 PM. |
