i pre order a iom ss rs camaro 10 days ago .

i have this two page gm workbench letterhead with my order number in it.

i just enterd my order number thru the camaro5 tracking system and dont know what im waiting for.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

Now you wait....probably for awhile, at least a couple months. There's a lot of people ahead of you in line.

what dealer did you order from?

I ORDER FROM CAMINO REAL CHEVY IN MONTERAY PARK CA.

what i ment was what happens after you put the order number thru the tracking system
do we wait until viz gets back to us or what?

You play the waiting game...like the rest of us that haven't gotten our cars.

I placed my order 5-22, been sitting at 1100 since. If your dealer had an allocation then you might get lucky and get your car in 2 months.

I was told August...but here it is mid July and my order hasn't even been accepted by GM. The dealer I placed the order with is one of the largest in the Oklahoma area and still am waiting for my allocation.

It's all about the allocations.

wow i think we ordered the same day....congrats. viz is really quick at getting back on the boards. he will run your order number and tell you what event code you sit at. just check back on that thread and wait for his reply. hope this helps.

It is worth the wait- we ALL had to wait! You will be very pleased with the car>>>> Don't blame the dealer, they are not the assembly plant. I have my car- and no stripes yet. But I will wait and enjoy!

Well you ordered from a great dealership!

The average time seems to be 8-12 weeks.

Depends on if they had any allocations at the time of your order also.

Keep on this site, it helps A LOT with the wait.

Just sit back & wait....

your event code probably is still at 1100 so soon after ordering (unless your dealer had an immediate open allocation), so don't expect any movement right away.

Look at my sig.... ordered mine May 9th...STILL at 1100.

Hopefully your dealer has only a "few" orders ahead of yours. Mine has 10 ahead of me & they are getting 11 allocations this month, so I will move to 2000 & on at the end of this month or early August. FINALLY! HURRY, HURRY, HURRY!!!

How do you know how many allocations your dealer gets? I asked my dealer, and he said that there is no allocation schedule or anything and that they just have to wait for them. I'm so confused

Rule #1 - Ask your dealer where you are on their priority list
Rule #2 - Ask your dealer what his monthly consensus allocation is...you may only ask this question on the 10th of each month. When the cumulative allocation # is equal to or greater than your priority #, then start checking the status code movement.
Rule #3 - After you have confirmed that your priority # is equal to or greater than the dealer's cumulative consensus allocation, you are allowed to ask the dealer about status code changes, esp. to 3000
Rule #4 - When you get to 3000, you are allowed to monitor movement weekly, starting on the Wednesday after you go to 3000, to the next status code(s). When you get to 3400, you are allowed to continue checking weekly.
Rule #5 - At 3800, you are allowed to start counting days as you should be 10-20 days of transit time before delivery.

In case of confusion, refer to rule 1 & 2....sit back and wait.

Check the tracking thread, the Viz does a great job and is a great asset to this forum. By the way I ordered IOM 2SS 6MN on 5-4. TPW is 7-27. The wait will be worth it. Good luck with your order and congrats.
