Nope, and that's ridiculous.

When I worked for GM, we had a break where no cars were built in between MY that fell close to May/June (for re-tooling). We'd then start the new MY. I figure we're a few months away from that stoppage so you may be able to sneak in for a 2022. Have you looked at the constrained thread to make sure that you're not ordering something that's not available?

lol, almost typical. I would send a text and would get a response maybe 24-36 hours later. I saw my salesman at his computer once, and saw how he had to engage his computer to send/receive text messages, which was fine by me, as long as I would eventually get a response. You can also call. I would do the occasional pop-in.

Also, keep in mind that there's a fine line in keeping things up to date with your salesman and being a pest. I would visit https://www.chevrolet.com/ frequently, use the Chat feature to see if my order was accepted by GM. After I saw that it was accepted, I would ask Joe to confirm, and then ask my salesman a week later. I think I bugged my salesman just enough to make sure that he would keep me in the loop. Imagine that you're a salesman and that a customer calls you constantly, would you be inclined to be more or less receptive?

Hi all,

Well after a wait since December ‘21 my dealer finally got the call from the delivery truck driver that the car will be there later today or tomorrow. This was a ‘for stock’ order the dealer had placed in late ‘21.

Fortunately for me it is exactly as l would have ordered in all aspects. As soon as it gets it’s PDI I’m flying there to get it and driving it home. The build sheet shows it has the PDR and all other goodies it should have.

I’ll post a pic when I get there.

Take care,

JJ

I'm truly happy for the folks getting their cars, but I have to admit I get a little frustrated at GM when I see dealer stock orders built well before retail sold orders.

My retail sold order was entered November 9th, 2021 and there was nobody ahead of me at that dealership. The order was never accepted. The order is now moved to the '23 model year and awaiting acceptance.

The allocation system is terrible from the customer perspective. Choose your dealership wisely. Choose poorly and you may never get your car.

How can you track the progress of an order? I did years ago on a Corvette, but can't remember how I did it.

Look for a post called order tracking under the general Camaro forums by Joe. He's very helpful in looking up your order status if you don't want to call your dealer. Or you can call GM customer service. Too bad the Camaro doesn't have access to the concierege like the Corvette does.

This is the thread, post up your question and Joe will be able to help: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=415251

Alternatively, you can request and receive somewhat less granular tracking information from Chevrolet using the chat feature at chevrolet.com.

2023 ZL1 Order

Just thought I'd throw it out there that my 2023 order has already been accepted by GM and is in 2000 status. I placed the order on May 6th, summit white and manual. Nice to know that they accepted it this quickly.

Where can you find the latest list of what options are on constraint?

Sorry if I missed it, did a quick search and didn't see an apparent thread, but wanted to know definitively what could be holding up my order. Thanks.

Base ZL1, I'll probably never hit the track so I didn't go with the 1LE
