Not sure what you mean by "bait and switch".
The ZL1 owner and I both knew we'd be at the event and knew we'd run each other when we got there.
We got there.
We ran a really good run.
He won by a little.
It was fun.
When I see "cam only" I figure you have ONLY done a cam and that's it... hence the "only" part...

With your car dynoing 483, you aren't walking past a STOCK manual ZL1. An auto? MAYBE but definitely not a manual. Stock ZL1 m6's are dynoing between 500 and 510ish rwhp so at best you lose by a bumper or so (assuming the drivers are on equal levels). Again, an auto you MIGHT walk.

Okay so "cam only" over on the ls1tech forums is a normal term. And it means bolt ons and a cam, but nothing more. So no nitrous, blower, etc.

And if my car weighs 3779, and a ZL1 weighs 4100+, a ZL1 with 20 more WHP isn't going to beat me by a bumper.
Granted with me in the car (I'm light) my car weighs ~3929, and my girlfriend who recorded this weighs like 110, I'm at 4040ish lbs.
hence the outcome of the video.

But this wasn't the point of the post/video, I wasn't wanting to start an argument, (and I'll delete this thread if it goes that route) the point was, I had a fun race against another forum member. And it was about as even as it gets.

Stock 2SSRS weighs 3860. Stock ZL1 weighs 4051. Not even 200 pounds difference. Difference of HP is between 20 and 30. Torque is almost 60 more in the ZL1. Beating you by a bumper is more than realistic.

True, but you have way more in a stock ZL1 than a SS with mods. Other person could put a blower on his and still have less in it. Either way good race and both cars are bad ass.

Nice race! When your talking a Stock 500 whp ZL1 and a 480 whp SS that weighs a little less, the race could go either way. It's on the driver. Never the less a great match up and looks like a blast. Jealous!

Then it wouldn't be a fair race. The way they match up now is just about perfect. One with a little more horse and weighing a Tad more and the other with a little less horse weighing a Tad less... perfect...

I recently raced a buddy of mine at a 60 roll in third gear and I pulled him. He couldn't keep up and he has a cam, heads and more. He puts down about 520 at the wheels. Mine just has a cai and I had my wife with me. OP that is definitely a good pull there though. I wonder what PTM mod he was in. That definitely makes a difference. Was he on the stock Goodyears? I have found since I am running the PSS 315s on the rear my ZL1 hooks a lot better.

No butt hurt here. As stated above in my posts.
The guy has a modified SS against a stock ZL1. Hp and weight is almost identical, common sense here will tell ya what's going to happen .
now if it was a stock SS then my butt would hurt. 😄

Where I am from "cam only" doesn't actually mean cam only. It referrers that's the only internal engine mod and there's no other power adders like a S/C, Turbo, or NOS. It also includes having full bolt on's. CAI, TB, long tube headers, hi flow or no cats, and catback.

That was a really good race and If Jeff didn't have a passenger he would have won.
