It's more of a product to protect than for looks.

I use the old stuff, but not for tires for the same reasons you mention. It's much better for trim and it lasts 3-4 months.

I use PERL straight for tires for shine, 1:1 for satin, or 1:2 for matte.

PERL is hydrophobic, easy to use, and has lasted me a month through rainstorms and general Florida weather. Naturally, the shine dies down over the course of the month, but it still looks dressed. 1 month is usually where I want to reapply, because it's too toned down for me.

IMO, it's the best tire dressing on the market that I've tried and I've used about 10 of the most popular ones.

Hey Darkage, thought I'd try to help out. I recently purchased this product and only had used it once a couple months ago so I couldn't remember much about its use and look. Detailed the car today, and reapplied a new coat of it. Did you make sure that you thoroughly cleaned the tires prior to the application? And they were completely dry when the product was applied? This is essential for this product to work correctly. Here are some pictures.

Tire/wheel after being cleaned with high concentrated APC 4:1. Notice how dry the tire is.

I have the new formula also.

Let me know if this is what yours looked like. I like the end look. Remember another coat can be applied after 20 minutes for enhanced gloss. (I only did one coat.)

JTruck, I cleaned the tires way above being clean. I'm glad it's doing the job for you, in my case I wouldn't put this stuff on my lawn mower.

See reply number 14, worse $30 I ever spend on a car care product.

As I said, it didn't work for me but glad it did for you.

My bottle of UTTG+ is still their old formulation, and I've been using it faithfully for years. My car is kept outside 24/7 and all my plastic and rubber trim still looks incredible after all this time and feels so smooth to the touch. Not sure how their new formulation is, but if it performs anything like their old one, I'm still a believer. It's definitely one of the highest quality trim protectants out there, right up there w/ CarPro Dlux and GTechniq C4.

To me this sounds more like user error than product failure, that's my personal opinion. Typically tire shine/protectants are greasy and smear... Not sure what you are getting at there. You never posted up any pictures of your actual tires with the product on them? The only variable that differs from my results to yours is the user.

O.K, if I'm understanding you correctly this product will feel greasy and will also smear when you run your finger over the tire, is that what you're saying?
