10.80@129 Bottle power BABY
Track went down hill as soon as the sun went down, I think the car has some 10.50's in it for sure. I cut a 1.61 short time on motor when the sun was still out, this pass was a 1.77:(

Very nice run. My best friend LOVES nitrous. That's all he runs on all his cars and he has some wicked rides. I'm sending him this link.

Ive been drag racing and seen guys with nitrous for years. I dont recommend it. I dont care how pro your set up is. Its not if your motor is going to go its when. Could go after 3 passes could go 100 but nitrous is just not good on a motor. If your drag racing pro and you need every second and tenth for a career match in pro street or pro modified and you have sponsors and money to burn and can replace your engine on the fly yes. But for the average hobby guy out there who just goes to the dragstrip for some bracket racing or silly grudge match or even your street weekend warriors, its just not a good thing for your motor. Great pass though i just hate to see that poor baby being bottle fed.

Good job.
Do you think a 150 shot is the highest we can go safely?

I'm trying to be conservative on the nitrous, I know of a few running 250 shot.

How are you not getting kicked off the track.
I ran a 7.4 1/8th and got a warning. I was with a freind with a GTO that ran 11.4 at Moroso and they took his VIN down and gave him the punt. No roll bar, battery switch , etc...?

Battery switch is needed if the battery is relocated, regardless of et/mph. But, your argument is still valid...it's not really the ET that's gonna get ya, it's the MPH (especially in the 1/8 mile?!)...for example, our '69 only runs high 11s on skinny tires, at 118mph...but, our '70 Chevelle runs high 10s, but only at mid-low 120s and requires a bar.

NHRA and IHRA rules
Quote:
When do I need a roll bar or roll cage, and what should it look like? A roll bar is required in any convertible running 13.49 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and in other cars beginning at 11.49. The roll bar is accepted in vehicles running as quick as 10.00 second e.t., provided the stock firewall and floorboard is intact, other than for installation of wheel tubs. The rollbar must be constructed of minimum 1 ¾ inch o.d. x .118 inch wall mild steel tubing, or 1 ¾ x .083 chrome moly tubing, and must conform to the following diagram: If the floor and/or firewall has been modified, then a full roll cage is required beginning at a 10.99 e.t. A full roll cage is required in any vehicle running 9.99 seconds or quicker, and any vehicle running 135 mph or faster (regardless of e.t.). The roll cage must be constructed of minimum 1 5/8 o.d.x .118 mild steel tubing, or 1 5/8 x .083 chrome moly tubing, and must conform to the following diagram: The roll cage of any vehicle running 9.99 or quicker, or 135 mph or faster, must also be certified by NHRA every 3 years, and have a serialized sticker affixed prior to participation. And list of crap you need for a 10 second car is significant:
