guess what, not all of the Disciples knew about this... because one of them that I know of was planning on getting an Aqua Blue 1SS/RS as late as last Saturday... so not only are they keeping us in the dark, they didn't exactly keep the Disciples in the know, either.

No Imperial Blue kills 2 of my color options. :(

I originally couldn't decide between White with Imperial Blue rally stripes, Imperial Blue with White rally stripes, or Rally Yellow with Black rally stripes.

V8's and associated beefier drivetrain will weigh more than a V6, that is just common sense. If you want to see what it takes pricewise to make a 3200 lb v8 rwd car, it is called a vette, fiberglass body, and not cheap overall. You are comparing apples to oranges.

Also, what you call greed, most agreed with the domestics (including Toyota and Nissan) that trucks were a good investment. You may not think so but when a domestic company makes money it is good for America and for us all.

Dealers are their own situation, it is called supply and demand, if you don't like it, then wait until supply is adequate to get a decent price. Otherwise be prepared to look around to find a good price.

I would love a blue option, but I am sure they will eventually offer it. They have a lot of hard decisions to make to keep this car competitive, so it may be frustrating, but if fewer options means I get a better engineered car then I will take it.

Ok, now my rant is over...

Thats what it costs to develop a new platform, more on the platform later. The Corvette is a low volume car and thus does not need to meet all safety requirements. This lets them use a chasis optimized for low weight. But even then, the 2 seat corvette weighs 3200 lbs. So you expect them to be able to make a bigger car, with 2 more seats, for less money, and weighing 400 lbs less than a Corvette (you did say an extra 1000 lbs)

The Camaro is derived from the zeta platform which is derived from the sigma platform. This platform was chosen because it will keep costs down and it was designed to be versitile. The downside of this is its weight. Speaking of the G8, I've driven a one and didn't notice the weight. Others have driven the Camaro, they haven't noticed the weight. And we all know that Japanesse sports cars hold up to abuse real well
lastly: of light weight, cost, and durability: pick 2

sorry for the rant, but I wanted to say more than 'check the sig'
I'm sorry for the rant too. I respect your opinions.

But,

1. No NAV - I don't care, but most people do. OnStar turn by turn doesn't replace NAV.

2. No Blue for enthusiasts (SS)? Arrogant again.

3. Telling us we're too stupid to understand vehicle dynamics and safety constraints that produced a two ton Camaro. The same GM people who earlier said they called Jenny Craig Weight Loss Centers about the Camaro.
Ask Nissan how to design a sports car, 370Z is gaining power, AND losing 200lbs from the 350Z, down to around 3000lbs.
Don't think you'll feel an extra 1000 pounds on the road and at the gas pump? BS. The 370Z may start at $35000, but that will be close to a comparably equipped Camaro SS. We're willing to pay a couple of thousand more for a thousand less pounds of dead weight.

4. Saying you can't do anything about some horrible authorized dealers gouging everyone to death, repeatedly. Even on the 5 year old Corvette design.

In summary: Quit telling us what we want. We are the customer. You are in deep shxx, because of your past greed (high-profit, gas-guzzling trucks and SUV's) and arrogance. Repent!

Or just keep doing what you've been doing. Seems to be working well...

I still hope to buy a Camaro or a Corvette. I'm hooked on Chevy V8 power, and all-American styling inside and out.

All -- please keep posting on this thread -- I'm forwarding this thread and all others from other sites to try and help get Imperial Blue, at least, released on the SS.......

Frankly, it took me by surprise when I saw the order guide -- and we're making your thoughts known to the VLD.

Now -- to the notes above:

Perhaps you do love Nav -- however, when you look at option penetrations for NAV -- they're very low........not saying we should not have an aux. nav screen - but I'll give you my personal opinion: (not GM's) -- ANYTHING that takes your eyes off the road, in my opinion, should be outlawed.......including cell phone usage in cars..........and don't get me going about the people I see texting as they;re driving......(sorry...my rant)

Not arrogant again -- as I said -- make your thoughts known -- the disciples made theirs known and changes have been -- and will continue to be made. Show me another car company that involved people like we did......

AS to your third point -- the 350-370s are not 4 seaters -- they're much smaller -- so is it really fair to compare? (esp. when you haven't driven the car yet?)

.... and while this may have nothing to do with the 350-370 -- have you happened to see the debacle of the GT-R transmission?

I'm not calling everyone stupid --that's your word.... but there ARE those who simply refuse to listen to reason -
......and there are those who somehow -- and this completely escapes me -- refuse to understand that WE ARE TRYING TO RAISE OUR FUEL ECONOMY LEVELS -- AND WE'RE DOING WHATEVER WE CAN WITHIN ECONOMIC REASON TO DO SO --WITHOUT compromising the automobile.....we have no choice -- there are CAFE laws out there!

As to number 4 -- get real -- go to California and you'll see that just about EVERY dealer puts an ADM sticker on their cars and trucks.

Now - pay attention: WE CANNOT DICTATE PRICING TO DEALERS -- YOU CAN RANT ALL YOU WANT -- BUT IT IS I - L - L -E - G - A - L !!!! .........don't like it? Call a cop!

Now - you may not have seen this -- but I have been telling people forever that there are just under 4,000 Chevy dealers out there -- if one asks you to pay over MSRP -- just say no and walk out!!! NO ONE is holding a gun to your head.......and once again - this isn't something that only Chevy dealers do -- every manufacturer faces the same thing.

I'm Sorry Camaro5 -- -- don't mean to be short -- but I've been up a stupid amount of hours -- and I guess I'm a bit tired and a *bit* short in terms of temperment........and I guess I get upset when people rant on things that we cannot change......

I'll just say that the Imperial Blue is a striking color for the Camaro. I wasn't originally planning on getting the SS due to financial constraints, but I was keeping the option open. The 2LT Camaro I'm planning on getting will definitely be Imperial Blue, and if that color isn't available on the SS, that's going to be one more strike against the SS when it comes time to figure out, "Now that I have the money, do I want to go ahead and get the really nice V-6 that does everything I need, or do I want to save up a while longer and get the SS?"

I can certainly sympathize with those that wanted a blue SS, and I cannot understand why blue is not being offered when there is blue in the 2010 Camaro's color offerings, it makes absolutely no sense to me. I've been miffed with GM ever since the colors were released and there was absolutely no green of any kind. I would prefer an updated version of the '69 Rallye Green, but would probably settle for most any nice looking green that was not extremely dark, but again, no green at all offered. I understand why some options or mechanical things get left out, but I really don't understand these paint issues, GM has to paint the cars anyway, what's the big deal about another color or two? If they really want to keep the color choices that restricted, then perhaps they need to add a "primer only option/paint delete" with an appropriate discount for the paint delete, then those of us who want colors not being offered could have our cars painted the color we want. I'm not about to spend 30-35K (or more) on a car that I don't like the color of and then turn around and have it re-painted.

I went to my local chevy dealer on Friday and "ordered" my new Camaro SS/RS in Cyber mettalic Gray. This color was not my first choice, first choice being Imperial Blue. Please GM give us Imperial blue on the SS/RS.

Oh, hosanna!!!! Fbodfather, you are the man! I love you bro! *sniff* I knew you'd come through. And I so deeply appreciate all you do. I'd really hate to have to wait so long to get the car I've wanted just because my color isn't available. Just for your efforts, I owe you a steak dinner! And if you do actually get them to give us Imperial Blue on the SS... seriously, I need an address, cause I will actually buy you a steak dinner (or at least a certificate) :P.

I'm sorry too, Scott. I think America needs more people like you to succeed.

My point was not to add NAV, or change the weight now.

But, GM can sure paint some SS models blue.

Thank you for helping.
