Solid car. More than enough power. 04= LS1 05 and up = LS2. Under 100k miles, clean title, don't see how you could go wrong?

Very good choice! Like shank said, solid and plenty of power. Proven to go 0-60 around 4.6 sec. runs about 13s in the quarter mile, so speed wise it's also nice. Mods are available too As far as I know it's a pretty reliable car too!

Good luck!

I mean the cars are not expensive for what you get. I mean 400hp, duh! Even the bad things I've heard about the cars are not too bad, I've heard it can be uncomfortable as a DD and hard to see outta the back window because of the style. But I mean everyone is different, test drive and see how it suits you

Don't rule out an 04. If you get a good enough deal, go for it. You can easily make up the power.

The only bad thing about the 04 is I can't really find any with a reasonable mileage freaks me out when it gets too high..

Get a 06 model. It has nicer looking tail lights in my opinion, and slightly better front seat mechanism. I would also look for one with the 18" wheels, as they are easier to wash. I like the 18" Holden VZ wheels the best on the GTO. They are very fast! Good luck!

I owned an 05 since new. Had 80k miles on it when I traded it in on the Camaro. Step son has an 04 that we just got a few months ago...silver with red interior with only 38k miles on it.

Performance is good in a straight line. Very average in the corners.

04's have the more reliable engine but less reliable transmission.

Really I can tell you whatever you want to know.

Hello,

It's an awesome car! You should definitely test drive one when you get a chance and get a real feel for its wonders .

Very sound advice there. I actually didn't think of that
A nice test drive would do wonders for you though. Get to see what it's like.

Haha, Thanks! I actually plan on going tomorrow to test drive one! It's an automatic and I want a manual.. You know if there will be much of a difference with the feel of the car? Unfortunately the closet on that is a manual is like over 50 miles away

No more of a difference than any other manual vs auto performance car.

If you plan on mods and drag racing with dr's or slicks I will tell you the auto is much more forgiving on the rear end pieces of the car.
