extended warranties

Why are extended warranties a waste of money in some peoples eyes?

Simply put, they are often riddled with exceptions and holes as to make it utterly useless. They are designed to make money for the dealer and the warranty company, and little to nothing to actually reduce the cost of major repairs.

I actually had one on my Blazer and had a prob with the alternator going out multiple times and they fixed it each time until the figured out what was causing it. If I hadn't had the EW, it would have cost more than I could afford. That one issue was worth it to me.

Mixed feelings here, I bought one for my camaro, kinda expensive, but ya never know what will happen! Bought them for my last two cars and lost my ass on cost for what I used them for, but with all the problems I have had with this car so far I may not regret buying it this time. Most times if you buy it you will never need it but if you don't you will wish you did!
