windshield humidity problems
Does anyone else have problems with windshield humidty? I have a spot (about 2"x6") that appears when the A/C is on for the vents and not the defroster?? Mine seems to do it very frequently.

there is some residual airflow that will blow up thru the defroster vent. happens on most every car given the right temp/humidity differences

I've noticed the same thing, but you just have to play with the temp control a bit to find the right temp to take that away but still keep you comfortable.

Yeah, it's quite annoying, especially when backing out of the garage. It takes quite a few minutes to clear it up. I have found the best thing to do is to run the windshield wipers.

I had the same problem and was told also "all cars do that" well they don't. I have owned many cars trucks whatever in the past and none were as bad as this Camaro. Most of them didn't do it at all. As said the defrost vent never fully closes, I have no idea why this would be a good thing or necessary. Pretty much the only solution is to add in just a touch of heat and that seems to take care of it. Doesn't take much just a few clicks.

This problem will go away as the initial excitement of driving the Camaro eases... Slow your breathing and relax...

No every car doesn't do it. I have four other cars and trucks and this is the only one that does it for me. AS others have said above though adding a touch of heat does the trick.

My dad's 1993 Cavalier used to do the same thing. There was a certain temperature where you would run the defroster with the AC on, and it would haze up outside the window and you would have to run the wipers. if you turn off the defroster, the windows inside would fog up.
I've had this happen in my Camaro. I'm pretty sure it has happened in my Camry as well. It is odd that you have to run the wipers to get rid of that, but it beats not being able to see because of the haze on the inside of the windows.

My Kia did this also. I wouldn't say it's a "problem", it's fairly common. It's not like it's a defect or anything.

If it is on the outside, that's normal. It is from the cold air cooling the windshield and forming a cold spot on the glas. This causes the outside humidity to condens, forming moisture on the windshield. Happens on every car I own. Normal. To stop it, I increase the temperature setting on the AC.

It's on the outside, the point is when turn your A/C to the "Vent" position, you would like it to be ONLY vents. No, not a defect just a poorly designed duct system.

My 98 Camaro did it. So did my Acura RL,my Grand Prix, My Impala, my 95 Camaro.
Not a design flaw. It is basic thermo dynamics. Cold air on a concentrated area causes condensation. Will happen on almost any car or truck.
