Certain ram air hoods have an outlet for the ram air that is designed specifically for the top of the CAI INC case. You can take the plexiglass piece out or something and it mates up to the hood when its closed.

you do NOT need to touch the washer bottle for the CAI Inc one. I took mine out anyway because its heavy, and I never use it. It also blocks air flow if you get a scoop, or just want to cut the hole out for where a scoop will go.

BTW the CAI made my exhaust note sound much "throatier" if that makes any sense

Volant is the way to go, better performance numbers on the dyno. Better look for me as it looks totally factory. Really opens my MRT V2 Exhaust so much loader than the CAI intake, easier to take care of, doesn't get dirty so you see all the dirt underneathe, easier to get to the windshield washer fluid, less money, plus everyone has the CAI its overrated & everyone you see looks the same under the hood.. Be difference dont follow the clan of CAI intake Camaros!

so something like the roto-fab intake would be good with a ram air hood?

I said it before and I'll say it again. It's a tube with a filter on it, hard to pick a bad one. I personally chose airaid and it works fine.

Yeah there is a huge dyno post on the forums about it search volant plus if you order the Volant you have a choice of different air filters and one of them is a Pro Filter which is better than any filter CAI gives you!

There is a lot more going on there than it may seem. That is why a good intake can produce 15+rwhp and a bad one can result in a loss of power.
