Texas (Dallas) State Fair Info 2009!!! (Pix added....kinda large pix, but still.)

Here's the info on this years Texas State Fair.

For those that have been to the fair and shown their cars in the past, you know what's up.

for those that have yet to even GO to the state fair, you are really missing out and would have a BLAST....fun for the ENTIRE family. I've been to two of the last three years and only missed last year since we went to Indy (which tapped us out in the bank account).

I will be going this year (granted everything runs like it should) and REALLY hope to see a bunch more of ya'll join up.

Here's the deal.....

In order to attend the show, you need to join one of the three Texas Fbody sites. Here's the link to TFBA where I'm signing up. I pay my $20 to join the TFBA and send in my info. That takes care of it all. Then, I just call in my room at the hotel (staying Fri night and Sat night) and all is done. It's just time to sit back and wait for the show.

For pix on the event, you can reference these threads. Here's a bunch of pix from the past..... this is an event that is TONS of fun....

Main Texas State Fair link

2007 Texas State Fair thread

Scotsmans's photos from the 2008 State Fair

Nexus6's 2008 photos

Several pictures I took at the 2006/2007 State Fair events

If you are interested, sign up. We're going to have a blast....and maybe see how many people we can fit in some of the ride and drive cars again...

Wouldn't ya' know it I'm taking vacation to attend the NHRA finals in Ennis, TX the weekend before this event.

Our family doesn't have a 2010 Camaro currently in our fleet. Interested in attending so if anyone has family/friends that needs to carpool this trip you can join myself and spouse if neccesary.

So, what's the bang/scoop here? Do we get special parking on "the inside" or other perks of some kind? I am intrigued, as my wife/kid love the fair (okay, I do too) and this might be a really cool way to go this year.

Yep. Special parking. You pay the $20 to become a member of one of the three clubs and that gets you entrace fee. Pack the whole family in your car cause you drive in to one of the car corrals where you put your car up on display (in the proper 5th Gen area - there will be 4th gens, 3rd, 2nd, and some beautiful 1st gens). But, you pack in the whole family and everyone gets in for free (just the $20 entry club fee).

There will be an award deal as well that the NTFBA does every year.

Lots of fun and lots to do.

hanks for the response, Tag! This was the motivation I needed to complete/get my app going.... I joined the forum for the Texas F_Body, got accepted but still can't post anything yet, so details are scarce for me. I am up for this though, and it'll be cool to meet some more Camaro5 members.

Yeah...Millie had a lot of bots join the site a while back and she verifies each person that signs up to make sure she doesn't get a lot of spam. She'll get ya taken care of.

Hey TAG... do you have to stay at the hotel?

Do you have to go into the fair in a group or just show up & they know to let you in?

We live in the area & don't need to spend the extra $$ on a hotel.

THANKS!!
