I may consider trading my old version one piece black tube and filter for the new version tube , elbow and filter but not sure if the box is different also. But then again I like mine as it is so it would have to be an even swap. Mine is like new about 200 miles on it.

The box and filter is the same, you would need the new tube, elbow, clamps etc.

We will not produce products that will not be able to meet our QC specs on a consistant basis and risk putting out an inferior product just for looks. We hold our Quality standards to a high level and will not lower them just so we can make something that a few people may think looks better. Not only will we not do it, but to keep our pending quality certification for TS-16949 which is one of the highest QC certifications you can get in manufacturing we can not do it. I dont think I can explain it any better than that and hope it properly answers your concern.

Bill, where is the PCV tube connection now? Also, is the MAF sensor located on top now?

The PCV connection is on the bottom of the elbow coming off of the throttlebody so it is hidden. The MAF is in the same spot. Heres a picture.

Thanks Bill that's not a bad deal, I was really offering to trade with someone that liked the original version better but I may end up getting the update kit sooner or later.

Just Remember if you change the tube the car must be retuned.

Ted.

One of the selling points is the ceramic coating which is to help keep heat from conducting through the tube. With this silicone elbow, half the tube isn't coated now. Is the ceramic coating just marketing BS then?

Slicone Hose does NOT conduct Heat Transfer.

Thanks for pointing that out, not sure if it was the picture or what, but here's a different angle. It's still at the shop, but the tube looked full.
