Is this an important Motor Oil quality?

Interesting comparison of motor oils at low temperatures.

That was interesting. I'd like to see those same guys do a high temp test. I've been using Mobile 1 in my vehicles for a long time. I won't be changing.

I've been using Pennzoil Ultra and if you believe the propaganda it is the number one oil out there by a long shot. I will say it does an incredible job keeping the engine spotless.

Then again, different tests, different results. Look at these bearing tests:

Shocking to say the least.

Which testing sites and results are people using to arrive at their overwhelming support of Aimsoil?

AMSOil has been proven for years. There's a good bit of data to back it up out there. That being said, any oil that meets GM's listed specs for your car (and some that don't say because they haven't gotten licensed for the spec) will work fine for the majority of the drivers here.

Oil is one of those topics that's like religion and politics. If you want your fill of the hoopla head on over to http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...s.php?ubb=cfrm

See, that's what I thought. But then I found out the Walmart brand is desox1 certified and labeled. Then I see a video like the one above and I think, ok sure, that's at 40 below... probably not an issue, but still...

And the bearing tests? Those are HUGE differences between the worst and the best...

I know... I'll have to just pick a couple and stick with them.. Funny how I didn't care too much about it before I got my Camaro. Or I should say, before I got a little education on the subject.

Important if you lived in Antarctica...Truth is, an engine running any of those oils would need a block heater in those conditions. The debate over "the best oil out there" is never ending. I was a Mobil 1 guy for years, just switched to RP out of curiosity mainly. I maintain my car on a "severe duty" schedule, and have never had a major engine issue in over 40 years of driving....
