Do the V6 and V8 share the same stock exhaust?

Nope, different diameter at minimum. As for protecting the turbos, I had a local shop build a skid plate to protect the mid-mounted ones. I'm pretty sure you could do the same for the rear mounted ones, too. Just an idea.

Yea they are but since the maro is my only car and I couldn't get a loaner froma family member that week, I couldn't have any downtime since I need my car to get to work. If the maro was just my weekend warrior, it would've never got the ebay treatment lol! Oh the pt6765 I'm running now for the past 5 months is a craiglist used turbo, just gotta know what your looking at.

Engine bay mounted would be awesome but will require some movemnet of things in the engine bay.

the rear mount intake is right above the turbo so a skid plate would stop alot of the air from going into the intake/ and cooling the turbo

Doesn't have to be big, just enough to deflect stuff from hitting the turbo. You could also have the cut louvers in it.

Pretty sure the exhaust is the exchangable from v6 to v8 from anywhere behind the cats. V-8 was just half inch bigger dia. if memory serves me right. I know there is a old post of a guy running the cherry bomb cat back for a v8 on his v6. Sounded bad but it fit.

If there is someone out the looking to do a custom engine bay mount v6 turbo many parts of this kit would probably cross over very well. To boot we would have alittle more clearance to mount the turbo due to the lack of 2 cylinders.

Wish I just had the money to try it. Sure woud be fun to be the first engine bay mounted v6 turbo that works.

Bumping this just a bit. Maybe gretchen or tracy could chime in on this. My question is if 90% of these parts would fit what kind of problems would one run into with this kit by retro fitting to our 6. You two have the largest fi knowledge i know of.

Check with SC2150 with rx performance. They were doing the supercharger and turbo builds I talked to him about it swell I want the turbo kit because people are just seeming to get better numbers from them rather than the supercharger. He said they would do a engine bay mounted turbo kit for a limited time.

Im going to be at RX on saturday talking to Tracy. I as well want a engine bay turbo kit. I figure a larger single mounted where the air box is now. It gives you all the power + some thing to look at when you pop your hood.

We can build a system for the engine bay....just the heat issues are the main reason we do mid-mounts.
