Price Gouge (Possible Scenario)

So my dealer told me he may add to the MSRP if other dealers were doing it. This was back in October, and I only have one pre-order, and from this dealer. So imagine I get a call and a 2010 Camaro, exactly as I ordered , is sitting there, and there's one little (big) problem..... they want to charge above MSRP . So what do you think I should do? I mean, I really don't have the patience to order from another dealer and have to wait.

The only reason they charge over MSRP is because people are willing to pay it. If nobody paid over MSRP then they would sell them for less. I say no way. Stick to your guns.

on what grounds? Would they back me up and make them sell it MSRP? I bet if they would probably get mad and just sell it to some other person...

If you have it in writing, make them stick to it. I did when I ordered mine. Nothing over sticker. No way, no how!

If you have a depsoit, demand it back. If non-refundable, time to call Better Business Bureau. Also, complain to GM Customer Service.

This is exactly why I let my fingers do the walking before i went to any dealer. Narrowed my choices from seven different dealers down to one.!!!!

Its going to hurt turning my Camaro down.... I wonder if a threat to get the local media would work, since my father is well known in the area, maybe that would get them to change it....hopefully.

Weren't you the kid who had his parents put down the deposit and the dealer said it could be as much as $10k over?

We told you not to put up with it but you stayed. I recall you saying, "He says he'll see when it gets here." That's dealer code for you'll be paying out the ass.

You should have listened.

(Sorry if I got the wrong guy)

He told you when you ordered that he *may* charge over MSRP and you didn't get MSRP in writing? In effect, you gave him permission to do so and without something in writing there's nothing GM can do about it. Dealer sets final price.
And you didn't get a receipt for your deposit?
Fail
