The Whipple can easily get you 10.50. Good tuning and traction are a BIG PLUS.

I run 10.6 at 131mph with 626RWHP.
Auto(6L90) with 3.23 gears. 3000RPM converter. AGP TT 9 psi
So it can be done fairly easy with an automatic,if you have a manual,it will be a little harder for sure.

The truth is my friend that when you get that mid 10 second car your going to like it for 6 months to a year, then the itch is gonna hit you to turn up another 100+ hp or so to get from mid 10's into the high 9's. Then you will find that some of the things you "tweaked" to get into the mid 10's will probably have to be redone or replaced to go from mid 10's into the 9's and this will inevitably end up costing you quite a bit more money in the long haul.

You may have already sifted through my F-1X build in this section, but if not then possibly you should because what I am hearing you say is the very same things that were going through my mind when I entered that build (which is still being tweaked by the way).

I am not pointing you to my build to sell you on a ProCharger. In that build I had to remove the fancy cooling system set up for the Maggie, go with much bigger injectors that I had already replaced about 6 months before, remove my JRE Super Tensioner, etc., etc., all costing me extra $$$ that I could have avoided if I had gone for the gusto the first time.

Good luck on your decision! I decided to go for 9's because in my mind it was feasible to have a 9 second street car, but when/if I do make it into the 9's then I am good stopping there because I would go broke trying to have an 8 second street car.
Damn you hit it on the head, your thread is what actually started the itch for a centri set up! .. And just like you I have the the Jre, rotofab intake, radiator cover for rotofab and lingenfelter coil covers for maggy . Already a decent amount invested, just wanna be sure about the next move before I do the cog over drive and a bunch of cooling mods..

My car Dyno'd 586 RWHP on a DynoJet with my little LSA

1.515 60 ft.

4150lbs

Mid 10s can be found in many different ways, they are not all RWHP related, as mentioned before.

Long story short... built a Maggie car, stock displacement automatic. Once done, probably had 10k in the blower setup to max it out. Car made 736rw, ran a 10.31@137.8. This was about 16psi.

Friend was selling his ERL 427, figured right there, pick up some power and get the 9's. wrong...picked up 30rw. Maggie couldn't keep up. Start of the dyne run was 17psi and dropped to 13 by the end.

Pull the Maggie, buy f1a, 3800 converter and cam swap. Makes 865rw. I miss the low end pull to get the car going, I miss the harder hit of the Maggie.

Tuesday, the AGP twin kit showed up to replace the F1A. I want that hard pull back, much more fun to drive. Only down side is I need to pull the motor and open up the rings to make this really fun. Although I'm sure even at 15psi, it will be a good time.

Oh yes. That combo (427, 3800 stall, TT) is VIOLENT. No lag, just stab the gas and the converter flashes up to where the car is already at 800wtq and that's just getting started. 1000wtq a second later at 5500.
I bet you run 9's first time at the track with that.

9’s are the plans for sure. Little suspension dialing and I think it will be more than possible

We've had great success with Magnuson Hearbeat systems and Procharger systems. We have a 5th gen Camaro making over 1000+HP and 860+TQ to the wheels with an F1A procharger on a 429ci motor running mid to high 9's with a 4200 lb race weight.
Let me know if you have any further questions, shoot me a pm.

Regards,
Brandon

Installing a vortech ysi-b right now. Its the same thing as a 2200x. Im going to run it with the same 3.33" pulley i had on the paxton 1500 and see how it does. Some say it will feel sluggish down low spun that slow but i found an old thread on here where jannetty dynoed the two and the ysi made 10hp more throughout the entire pull with same pulley.
