Keeping up a black colored camaro
I'm getting a new camaro and I'm deciding on the color, Im thinking either black, red, white or grey (OR a aqua/kinetic blue). I heard black shows dirt a lot more. What's your opinion on keeping up a black colored camaro? Chances are, it wont be in the garage it'll be outside, I could buy a car cover for it, but I also heard that taking it on/off scratches the car.

I have 4 black vehicles and a black bike, they are a labor of love to keep them looking good and care must be used to clean them without swirl marking the paint. But nothing looks better when they are clean in my opinion.

Black is the least forgiving color. However, maintaining paint is the same regardless of the color.
Read around on here and you can learn a lot. There are also tons of other detailing forums you can look at. It's not rocket science, it just takes some time to learn it all and it takes discipline. Anyone can do it, but few people have the discipline for it.

Be prepared 3 years down the road to wax the car after every other wash. Best looking car when clean but what a chore to keep looking that way.

I've recently decided to keeping looking the way I want I need to move away from hand products and get a Flex machine with all the appropriate Adams products.

My opinion, Black looks fantastic for the first 5 minutes after washed and waxed.
After that... Personally have owned one, and my wife currently owns one, and never again.

black is not for lazy people, you gotta be real anal and be willing to wash and detail regurlarly if you want to maintain a pristine look. I like to detail and so I do it daily from april to late november. wash twice if not three times a week, do wipe downs in between.

I love my black car...wouldn't trade it for the world, but I enjoy taking an hour or so everyday to keep it looking perfect. My favorite part of the day!
