See that's bs rather they like it or not they messed up and should have double checked their work, you know that measure twice cut once saying, they could have even caught it during the auction and changed it before it ended or cancelled the auction to make the correction, they should have to honor it.

There are two types of ebay sellers,..
Those that accept the closing price at reserve, or below if none, and says "Thank You". And those that feel they should not have to accept the price the marketplace has given them. The latter doesnt last long on ebay. (I am a seller and buyer since 1999) |

I've actually sold a car off ebay before. And the rules explicitly state that any auction win is technically unenforceable. Although the seller may get kicked off ebay, or other "punishment", they don't have to sell you squat.
It's the same deal as a buyer who never sends the money. They cannot force the transaction completion, but they can evict the tool that doesn't complete their side of the deal. Leave them negative feedback. That's all you can do. Other than that, go spend your time, effort, and money elsewhere. Sorry for your loss, but that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Same thing happened a while back with a mis-price on CAIs from some vendor. Obviously some people's panties got stuck way up their azz about it and any reasonable person would know there was a mistake in price.
Here's the deal- until official contracts have been deemed "entered" IAW local/state/federal laws, you can back out of any deal whether you're the buyer or seller unless you can prove deliberate intent to deceive. If you don't like that, then get the laws changed. You can boycott the dealer or choose not to do business with them, but that's secondary situations. It's your choice. But I fail to see what's so hard to understand here. Apparently people are either ignorant of the ebay rules, or simply too lazy to read and understand them when they sign up.

Even the new ad doesn't state that it's a 2LT/RS. There's almost a $5,000 price gap between a 1LT non-RS and a 2LT/RS and from the first picture it looks like a regular 1LT with a blade spoiler. Maybe if the ad was better more people would have bid on it. Bad publicity will cost you more than the $8,000 you'll lose on this car.

Sadly, I doubt there is much you can do here. You might contact ebay about revoking the dealer's future selling privileges.
The OP linked to an auction. All of the other postings by that dealer appear to be classified ads. That is certainly interesting. The other interesting part is that the OP showed a seven day auction. Surely, they could have taken a look at this auction at some point during their seven day window. They could have determined that they were not happy with the terms they had in place and relisted the auction. However, they did not do that. The first time anyone notices a problem is at the auction end. Really? |
